Yakuza 0 Director's Cut Launch Announced

SEGA has officially set the release dates for the much-anticipated game, Yakuza 0 Director's Cut, which will be available on several platforms. Gamers can look forward to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions launching on December 8, 2025, followed by the PC (Steam) version on December 9, 2025.

This action-adventure game transports players back to the vibrant world of late 1980s Japan, specifically the bustling districts of Kamurocho in Tokyo and Sotenbori in Osaka. The narrative revolves around two young protagonists, Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima, each embodying unique battle styles that offer exhilarating and easy-to-master fighting mechanics. Gamers can delve into their stories as they navigate the intricate world of organized crime during Japan's economic bubble.

New Features

The Director's Cut introduces exciting new content that wasn't included in the original game. Critical scenes featuring important characters previously missing from the narrative will now be incorporated, providing a richer experience for players. Additionally, a feature called Kachikomi Online Battle will allow up to four players to join forces online in epic combat encounters. Note that this feature will require a post-launch update for some platforms.

Character Introductions

• - Kazuma Kiryu (voiced by Takaya Kuroda) is a member of the Dojima Family, part of the larger Tojo Clan. After losing his parents at a young age, he was raised in a children’s home founded by his mentor, Shintaro Kazama. Kiryu rises through the ranks of the underworld but faces serious challenges after becoming embroiled in a highly consequential murder case that threatens not only his future but that of his benefactor as well. Driven to protect those he loves, Kiryu resolves to leave the Dojima Family, but not without opposition from formidable foes.

• - Goro Majima (voiced by Hidenari Ugaki) is the charismatic manager of the flashy Grand cabaret club in Sotenbori. Despite his success in making the club a hotspot, he is haunted by his past in the Tojo Clan and is constantly under threat of elimination due to his rebellious streak against the organization. He is coerced into committing a heinous act that would put him in a precarious position with devastating consequences.
