This year, the highly anticipated Black Health Matters (BHM) Summit is back, and it promises to be an impactful event focusing on health and wellness within Black and Brown communities. Scheduled for February 21, 2026, this summit is a part of the broader efforts to promote health equity and accessibility, especially during Black History Month.

The event will take place at the Friendship Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It is designed as a free, comprehensive health resource for community members, offering vital screenings, expert-led discussions, and engaging wellness activities. The day will kick off with complimentary breakfast and lunch, allowing attendees to both nourish their bodies and minds while they learn about essential health topics.

Goals of the Summit


According to Roslyn Young Daniels, the Founder and CEO of Black Health Matters, the summit aims to bridge the significant gap in health equity by providing culturally relevant information and care. By addressing issues such as nutrition, mental health, chronic illnesses, and preventive care, the summit empowers individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to take charge of their health.

The agenda features expert panels featuring healthcare professionals sharing insights on pressing health issues such as kidney disease, heart health, cancer prevention, and other chronic illnesses that disproportionately affect Black communities. Special guests this year include actors Timon Kyle Durrett, Ambyr Michelle, and Colby Natasha Nixon from CBS’s 'Beyond the Gates', who will share their personal stories and highlight the importance of health awareness.

One of the standout features of the BHM Summit is the provision of free health screenings, including full blood panels, hypertension checks, mammograms, and metabolic health assessments.
