Toshima Ward and Keio SFC Institute Sign Health Policy Collaboration Agreement

Health Collaboration Agreement Between Toshima Ward and Keio SFC Institute

On July 17, Toshima Ward formalized a collaboration agreement with the Keio SFC Institute, located in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture. This partnership aims to promote health policies with a particular focus on women’s health issues. The agreement is a crucial step forward, reflecting the commitment of both parties to improve health outcomes for the community.

Background of the Agreement

Toshima Ward has been actively involved as a special administrative partner in the Health Information Consortium led by SFC Institute. This consortium focuses on creating health information through a partnership between government, academia, and industry. As the new Toshima ward health center prepares to relocate in May 2028, the initiative includes implementing a new health support project. Hence, this collaborative agreement with SFC Institute serves to further advance mutual goals in health policy development.

Future Initiatives

Moving forward, there are plans to work closely with projects such as the 'BeeeY Femtech Park', which targets women's health concerns. The collaboration encompasses various activities, including:
  • - Addressing women's health issues.
  • - Disseminating information related to health.
  • - Conducting experiments with AI-driven services and mobility solutions.
  • - Collecting and analyzing health-related data.

Aiming to inspire citizens to think about their health and implement positive changes, collaborative projects will be introduced. Additionally, pre-events such as the 28th ‘Kokoro Matsuri’ on October 11, which is set to feature health measurement services, and the ‘Fukushi Health Festival’ on December 7 are scheduled to further promote these health initiatives.

Comments from Toshima Ward Mayor

Mayor Miyuki Takagisa expressed her enthusiasm regarding the signing of the agreement, emphasizing the importance of the new fundamental plans introducing visible health awareness. She stated, “With a focus on women's health, including that of younger generations, our partnership with the SFC Institute at this perfect timing brings great expectations and gratitude. We aim to create momentum leading up to the opening of the new health center next year.”

Dubbed 'Watashi Maintenance Lab', it will feature health check equipment, consultation spaces, and information dissemination corners. Monthly health-related events are in the works, integrating collaborative projects and displays with SFC Institute.

The 'BeeeY Femtech Park Project'

Additionally, the ‘BeeeY Femtech Park’ initiative, led by Yuka Honda and her team at SFC Institute, is a public collaboration project focusing on women’s health, osteoporosis prevention, weight management, and education about exercise and nutrition for children. Through themes such as “Measuring Connections”, “Eating Knowledge”, “Moving Insights”, and “Learning Through Play”, the project seeks to create a community and educational model where health becomes an engaging topic for everyone.

AI Mobility Solutions Experiment

AI-driven services and mobility solutions will also undergo testing in this collaborative environment. The development is part of the JST RISTEX SDGs program aimed at preventing social isolation and creating diverse social networks.
