Meizu's Triumphant Return: Unveiling the Flyme AI Ecosystem at MWC 2025
Meizu Makes Waves at MWC 2025 with Flyme AI Ecosystem
At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 held in Barcelona, Meizu announced its much-anticipated return to the global market. Gu Binbin, the Executive Director of Overseas Business, emphasized the brand's new global strategy during exclusive discussions with key media representatives.
With an already established fanbase in both China and worldwide, Meizu's announcement generated significant excitement. Observers were keen to learn about their strategies for globalization and how they plan to select the right markets. Gu highlighted that their approach is based on two core pillars: market demand and technological innovation. He elaborated on Meizu's strategic considerations, noting, "We are now operating in over 30 countries and regions across Asia-Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe. Each market demands tailored solutions, which is why our philosophy of 'Global Vision, Local Execution' is crucial."
This strategy guarantees that marketing, research and development, and customer support are all aligned with the unique dynamics of each market, forming the foundation of Meizu's localization efforts. In the near future, Meizu aims to further strengthen its presence in these regions while exploring new opportunities.
Furthermore, Gu highlighted the strategies that differentiate Meizu from its competitors: the ecosystem of "Smartphones + XR + Smart Cars" alongside the overarching theme, “All in AI.” Within this business philosophy, smartphones, augmented reality, and intelligent vehicles are seen as all integral components of future digital life. Each product serves different purposes yet can be technically interconnected.
At the core of this ecosystem is Flyme AIOS, which seamlessly integrates smartphones, XR glasses, and vehicles, providing consumers with a more comprehensive and intelligent experience. For instance, users can set navigation routes on their mobile phones, and this information will sync with the central control screens of their XR glasses and vehicles. In a business meeting, the XR glasses can translate the discussion in real-time, syncing with mobile devices and computers, while the smart car can automatically plan the most efficient route based on the user's schedule. This multi-terminal collaboration enhances not only consumer efficiency but also the product's utility and value.
Last year, Meizu unveiled its “All in AI” strategy, placing artificial intelligence at the forefront of its product development across its entire product line. By building a convergent AI ecosystem for multiple scenarios, Meizu ensures that users have access to enhanced intelligent features. For example, AI technology enhances mobile phone capabilities, such as photography, voice assistance, and personalized recommendations. Meanwhile, XR glasses enable innovative applications like real-time translation, navigation, and conference assistance powered by AI, and the AI-infused Flyme Auto system offers smart vehicle users a more advanced driving experience.
Moreover, the collaboration with the Geely Group aims to expedite the rollout of Flyme Auto technology and bolster its industrial standing. As one of the most widely adopted smart cockpit operating systems in China, Flyme Auto is installed in over 500,000 vehicles. In January 2025, over 132,000 smart cars equipped with Flyme Auto were sold, securing the top spot in the smart vehicle market.
In addition, Flyme Auto has partnered with Geely to facilitate global expansion, taking on 22 models from Geely, LYNK & CO, and other brands. The expansion is set to take place in regions like the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the Asia-Pacific, providing thousands of consumers with a revolutionary, intelligent, and cross-device experience.
Notably, Meizu is a smartphone brand under the DreamSmart Group, which also offers AI eco-products across three main categories: smartphones, XR technology, and smart cars. DreamSmart is recognized as a leader in smart ecosystems, with deep technological expertise across sectors.
Looking ahead, Meizu is committed to its “All in AI” and globalization strategy. The company plans to continue investing in product development and market expansion, striving to provide tech enthusiasts worldwide with superior, fully-integrated ecological products.
