ZESDA Partners with Tokyo Innovation Base to Foster Startups and Innovation

Aiming to contribute to the growth of startups and foster innovation, NPO ZESDA has signed a partnership agreement with Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB) on September 23, 2025. This collaboration, referred to as the 'TIB Partner' agreement, seeks to promote events and programs designed to support startups. The first event under this partnership, titled 'Produce Talent Development Course vol. 15 – Aiming for the Global Startup Campus Concept: Creating Knowledge to Support Deep Tech Startups', is scheduled to take place at TIB on October 31, 2025.

Understanding Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB)

Tokyo Innovation Base, managed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, acts as a dynamic platform where entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, corporate entities, and students come together in pursuit of innovation. The primary goal of TIB is to establish itself as a hub for global innovation, fostering diverse challengers from all walks of life. Equipped with facilities for prototype development (FAB) and market validation (SHOP), TIB provides extensive support programs and events aimed at accelerating the creation of new innovations and the growth of startups.

What is a TIB Partner?

The TIB Partner initiative includes organizations that leverage their unique expertise and networks to develop and manage various programs and events at TIB. Participating companies and institutions, which are approved through a thorough evaluation process by the Tokyo Government, consist of large corporations, local governments, and startup support organizations. This collaborative framework aims to build a robust platform for startups and their supporters.

ZESDA's Mission

NPO ZESDA, representing parallel careers in producing glocal (global and local) businesses, has been actively involved in initiatives such as facilitating the international expansion of regional industries and organizing study sessions related to glocal business concepts. Moving forward, ZESDA aspires to hold seminars at TIB and create collaborative opportunities with startups in Tokyo, aiming for an expanded network and increased support for entrepreneurship.

Initiatives as a TIB Partner

One of the prime activities ZESDA plans to initiate involves a seminar series titled 'Produce Talent Development Course.' This series will focus on examining various collaborative case studies between startups and their supporters, such as accelerators, and will include various events hosted at TIB. Furthermore, ZESDA intends to facilitate networking among diverse innovation-related talents by providing advice and introductions to aspiring entrepreneurs and new business planners within the exclusive 'ZESDA Salon.' This salon is a private event, not open to the public, allowing for intimate discussions and contributions to the innovation ecosystem centered around TIB.

Inaugural Event: Produce Talent Development Course vol. 15

As the first event organized under the TIB Partner agreement, ZESDA will host the 'Produce Talent Development Course vol. 15' on October 31, 2025, at TIB. This event will feature Shingo Hashimoto, Deputy Director of the Cabinet Office's Global Startup Campus Concept Promotion Office, as a guest speaker. Participants will gain insights into the full scope and significance of the Global Startup Campus Concept, enhancing their understanding of the deep tech startup landscape. We welcome everyone interested in participating!

Through this collaboration with TIB, ZESDA aims to strengthen the startup ecosystem in Tokyo and provide comprehensive support to aspiring entrepreneurs. The partnership represents a significant step towards promoting innovation and fostering a thriving entrepreneurial community in the region.
