J:COM STREAM to Feature Latest Episode of 'Onihei Hankacho' Series Starting October 10

Exciting New Release on J:COM STREAM

On October 10, 2026, J:COM STREAM will hastily release the latest episode of the beloved 'Onihei Hankacho' series, titled 'Honsyo no Tetsu,' starring the talented Ichikawa Somegoro. This marks the eighth installment, which fans have been eagerly anticipating. Beginning at 13:00 on the release date, viewers can enjoy the show as part of J:COM STREAM's expansive video on demand service.

The newest episode draws inspiration from the foundational stories within the original works of Masataro Ikegami, particularly the chapter 'Mikaku.' It delves into the youthful days of Heizo Hasegawa, known as 'Honsyo no Tetsu,' and presents an original narrative that creatively expands upon this well-known tale.

In this installment, we meet the young Tetsusaburo, who lives a reckless and indulgent life that earns him notoriety in the streets. Ichikawa brings depth to the character, conveying the youthful folly and inexperience of Tetsusaburo, while simultaneously hinting at the strong sense of justice and human compassion that will characterize him in later life as Heizo. The cast also features notable talents such as Kamokine Aitaka as the villainous Yokoyama Kopeiji and Nakajima Runa as the younger incarnation of Omatsa, providing robust performances that enhance the episode's appeal.

The narrative also follows the established lore of the series, serving as a prologue to the ninth installment, titled 'Mikaku,' which will debut this winter. Viewers are encouraged to immerse themselves in this grand saga of human emotions and relationships, which will unfold over two thrilling episodes.

In conjunction with the premiere, J:MAGAZINE! has released a special interview with Toshinori Omi, who plays the character Hikojyu. His insights into the role and the series add another layer of excitement for fans keen to learn about the making of this episode. You can read the interview here.
