The Motivation Behind the Project

Although cheerleading is relatively niche in Japan, the members of GRINS are eager to change this perception. They utilize every practice session to refine their performances, aspiring to captivate audiences worldwide with their finesse and synchronization rooted in Japanese culture. Recently, the team has earned the distinction of being recommended for participation in world competitions. However, the rising costs associated with travel and participation have posed significant financial challenges. This prompted the alumni of GRINS to initiate the crowdfunding for the first time, fostering an environment that encourages current members to strive for excellence and broad recognition of their team.

The urgent financial needs originate from soaring travel expenses, exacerbated by inflation and currency depreciation, which have recently increased their budget requirement to over 17 million yen for international competitions. Hence, the alumni and current members are rallying around this cause, looking to create opportunities that will enable them to challenge the world and build a supportive community around GRINS.

GRINS recently excelled at the "2025 ICU World Cheerleading Championships" in Florida, clinching the top position in the performance cheer jazz category, further bolstering their motivation to reach new heights.
