Lydia Arroyo Takes Charge as Chief Nursing Officer at PIH Health Whittier Hospital
Lydia Arroyo, a seasoned healthcare professional, has officially been named the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at PIH Health Whittier Hospital, effective April 2026. In her new capacity, Arroyo will oversee the hospital's nursing practices and operations, ensuring the high standards of patient care that PIH Health is renowned for.
Arroyo boasts more than 20 years of comprehensive clinical experience, having joined PIH Health in 2022 as the Senior Director of Maternal Child Health Services. In this role, she managed the daily operations of three departments and was instrumental in the planning and development of women's health services. Her dedication and leadership soon led to her interim appointment as Senior Director of Surgical Services in 2025, followed by a promotion to Vice President of Nursing Operations in the same year. During her tenure, Arroyo has played a pivotal role in enhancing the hospital’s reputation, particularly in maternity care, which has gained national recognition under her guidance.

Lydia Arroyo is a proud alumna of Pacific College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She subsequently received her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a family nurse practitioner, from Herzing University. This strong academic foundation complements her extensive practical experience, demonstrating a well-rounded approach to healthcare leadership.
