The 11th Heat Stress Exhibition: Pioneering Solutions for Extreme Heat
From July 23rd to July 25th, 2025, the Tokyo Big Sight will host the
11th Heat Stress Exhibition, organized by the Japan Management Association (JMA) under the leadership of Chairman Masaki Nakamura. This event aims to revitalize businesses focused on heat stress countermeasures through an interactive exhibition. Compared to the previous year’s event held in July, this year's exhibition promises to be significantly larger and more impactful.
The exhibition comes at a critical time as amendments to the Industrial Safety and Health Regulations were implemented in June, mandating companies to have measures in place to prevent heat-related illnesses in the workplace, with penalties for non-compliance. The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare now requires employers to adhere to specific guidelines aimed at preventing heatstroke, which have become increasingly urgent due to the alarming rise in related fatalities and serious incidents in recent years.
These guidelines specifically target workplaces where the Wet Bulb Glob Temperature (WBGT) reaches 28 degrees Celsius or when the temperature exceeds 31 degrees Celsius. Employers must establish appropriate countermeasures, develop procedures, and communicate these updates to all relevant parties.
With this context, the exhibition will showcase products and services aimed squarely at enterprises but will also provide valuable insights for the general public to promote awareness of heat stress solutions. Attendees can engage with a variety of innovative offerings designed to enhance workplace comfort and safety.
Among the featured products are wearable devices, ice slurries, fan-equipped jackets, cooling sprays, and industrial-grade cooling systems tailored for sectors such as manufacturing, construction, and logistics. The
Real Experience Field will serve as a sensory exhibition space where visitors can physically interact with these solutions, fostering a deeper understanding of their importance and effectiveness.
Exploring the Real Experience Field
One of the standout elements of this year's exhibition is the introduction of the
Real Experience Field. This groundbreaking initiative aims to address the common concern that product displays alone cannot convey the real-world applications of these solutions effectively. Attendees will step into a reconstructed warehouse environment, simulating the conditions of a real workplace, where they can explore the products and services offered by ten participating companies.
This immersive experience not only showcases the practical use of each product but also provides insights into heat stress prevention and occupational safety. The Real Experience Field is designed to inspire businesses and individuals alike to adopt effective measures for combating extreme heat, ensuring a safer environment for all workers.
