Fred DeAndrea comes to New Jersey American Water with over 20 years of experience in public policy and external affairs, having most recently served as Senior Director of Government and Community Affairs for Comcast in New Jersey. At Comcast, he directed legislative relations and advocacy strategies throughout the state. His professional background also includes positions in government and regulatory affairs, corporate communications, and public relations, providing him with a rich understanding of the intersections between business and government. DeAndrea began his career as a district representative for U.S. Representative Robert E. Andrews.

In addition to his robust professional experience, DeAndrea has actively contributed to community organizations. He is a past board member of the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce and serves on the boards of trustees of both the Southern New Jersey Development Council and the Boys & Girls Club of Camden County. With an academic background that includes a Master of Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Bachelor's in Political Science from Howard University, she has also been recognized for her community contributions, receiving the Progressive Leaders of Tomorrow Community Service Award in 2024. Additionally, James holds a trustee position for PAM's List and serves on the board for the Urban League of Hudson County.
