ATMA Classique Enters a New Era with New Ownership and Vision

A New Chapter for ATMA Classique

The renowned Canadian record label, ATMA Classique, embarks on a transformative journey as it welcomes Nicholas Choinière, Gabriel Felcarek, and Francis Choinière as its new proprietors. This pivotal acquisition marks a significant shift in leadership for the label, which has long been celebrated for its contribution to the classical music scene in Canada and beyond.

Founded in 1994 by Johanne Goyette, ATMA Classique has garnered a robust reputation, boasting an impressive catalogue of over 780 albums. Released annually, these recordings showcase a vast array of musical styles from medieval to contemporary, earning critical acclaim and numerous accolades. With the new management at the helm, the label is poised to continue its legacy, while propelling a fresh vision aimed at bolstering the visibility of Quebec and Canadian artists on the international stage.

The trio behind GFN Productions, Choinière, Felcarek, and Choinière, brings extensive experience in organizing symphonic concerts across Canada. Each year, they manage more than 100 large-scale symphonic events, building a strong connection with the classical music community. This expertise will serve them well as they take on their new roles at ATMA Classique, which includes maintaining the day-to-day operations led by the existing ATMA team.

In their new capacities, Nicholas Choinière will serve as General Manager, Gabriel Felcarek will assume the role of President of Groupe Ad Litteram, and Francis Choinière will take on the position of Artistic Director for both ATMA and its sister companies. Their mission is rooted in supporting local artistic excellence, ensuring that both established and budding artists receive the recognition and platform they deserve across Canada.

Nicholas Choinière expressed his commitment to fostering innovation within the classical music landscape, stating, "With this acquisition, we are securing the future of ATMA Classique while cultivating an innovative vision. We are committed to supporting local artistic excellence by providing a premier platform for established artists as well as new talent across the country."

This renewed vision is not just about preserving the legacy of ATMA Classique but also about breaking new ground in its operational strategies. Gabriel Felcarek shared a similar sentiment, emphasizing their resolve to honor the past while pushing towards new heights, highlighting the exciting road ahead for the label. "ATMA and its subsidiaries have a bright future ahead in classical music and beyond," he remarked.

Furthermore, the new ownership extends gratitude to previous owners Guillaume Lombart and Denise Lefebvre for their dedication to keeping ATMA in Canadian hands along with valuable support from SODEC Business Bank and legal advisor Éric Lemieux. These transitions are a testament to a collaborative effort aimed at ensuring the label's future growth and success.

As ATMA Classique sets its sights on new artistic horizons, it remains dedicated to quality recording standards and innovative programming, continuing to attract both artists and audiences globally. The label's commitment to excellence in sound and artist representation positions it well for future endeavors, enabling it to stay relevant in an ever-evolving musical landscape.

With this ownership transition, ATMA Classique and its associates are gearing up to inspire a new generation of classical musicians and enrich the cultural tapestry of the music world while promoting Canadian talent on the international stage.
