Tokyo Building Corporation Partners with Tokyo Marathon Foundation for the 2025 Legacy Half Marathon

Tokyo Building Corporation and Its Participation in the 2025 Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon

In a significant announcement, the Tokyo Building Corporation (Tokyo Building), led by President Katsuto Ozawa, has confirmed its role as a major supporter of the upcoming Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon 2025. This event, organized by the Tokyo Marathon Foundation, aims to enhance public health and contribute to the development of vibrant urban communities. Notably, this marks the second consecutive year of Tokyo Building’s support for this influential marathon.

The Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon, taking place on October 19, 2025, at the National Stadium, sets the stage for an impressive gathering of 15,000 runners, making it the largest half marathon in Japan. Since its inception in 2022, this will be the fourth chapter of the marathon, designed to be inclusive by welcoming participants from various categories, including general runners, persons with disabilities, wheelchair users, elite runners, and student teams, enriching the experience of running through the streets of Tokyo.

Tokyo Building is committed to enhancing the urban experience around its headquarters near Yaesu, Nihonbashi, and Kyobashi (YNK), engaging in several large-scale redevelopment projects, including the anticipated TOFROM YAESU set for completion in 2026. This agenda harmonizes closely with the mission of the Tokyo Marathon Foundation, which seeks to create a better society through improved living and running environments. Accordingly, a turning point on the marathon route near Nihonbashi will be named the “YNK TURNING POINT,” a nod to the local area.

Additionally, as part of its efforts to foster an inclusive society, Tokyo Building will collaborate with Heralbony, a creative company focused on transforming perceptions of disability and fostering cultural initiatives. A tower showcasing a unique design will be constructed at the YNK TURNING POINT, representing Heralbony’s contribution to the art project organized by the Tokyo Marathon Foundation.

More Information on the YNK TURNING POINT

The YNK TURNING POINT derives its name from the first letters of Yaesu, Nihonbashi, and Kyobashi. This turning point symbolizes the vitality of the local community, celebrating the synergy between sports and various cultural activities. Tokyo Building also plans to deliver several initiatives around this landmark, integrating local community engagement efforts.

Acclaimed artist Amanda Angela Soenoko’s artwork, “The Mystic’s Dreams,” will grace the YNK TURNING POINT tower. This piece was awarded the Tokyo Building | Brillia Award in the international HERALBONY Art Prize 2025, aimed at artists with disabilities.

The Tokyo Marathon Foundation is not only focused on promoting running but also aims to enhance the participation of individuals with disabilities in sports. Following the marathon, plans are in place for a para athletics workshop within the National Stadium.
