Exciting New Play 'TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN'

The stage production 'TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN' is set to premiere in November, and anticipation is building with the reveal of its breathtaking main visual, complete cast, and performance details. This original dance-theater experience is crafted by renowned choreographer and dancer Kaiji Moriyama, who is known for his unique interpretations of art. The music will be composed by Shuta Hasunuma, while the text will be penned by playwright Naoyuki Miura.

Including well-known performers such as Yui Wagawa, Amane Okayama, Miu Sakamoto, KAZUKI, and Ai Haruna, the performance will showcase a dynamic ensemble of 23 exceptional artists ready to take the stage.

A Journey with a Unique Motif

Inspired by the concept of a train, the narrative will unfold through the adventures of a steam locomotive and its intriguing passengers. This production intends to engage audiences and provide an inclusive experience that celebrates diversity.

This autumn, Tokyo will be buzzing with energy as it hosts both the Deaflympics and the World Athletics Championships, making the launch of 'TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN' a timely occasion to promote a society where everyone coexists harmoniously. It serves as an extension of the legacies established during the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic opening ceremony, bringing together diverse perspectives and voices in art.

An Original Dance Work

'Each breath we take draws in inspiration, and each exhale resonates with creative expression,” reflects Moriyama. This piece suggests that through various sounds and visuals, the essence of movement can be explored without needing the traditional constraints of a stage or performance narrative. Instead, the audience is invited to embark on this journey as the stage transforms into a canvas of interactions where excitement and wonder coalesce.

Collaborators and Contributors

Joining Moriyama is Ryo Kurisu, the artistic director of 'Slow Label,' who has worked tirelessly toward actualizing art in a society that celebrates coexistence through performance. Together, they are crafting a piece that leans into the creative challenges posed by their unique collaboration.

Musician Shuta Hasunuma, renowned for his multifaceted artistry and strong connection with social issues, has assembled a band alongside him to deliver an unforgettable soundscape. Alongside him, playwright Naoyuki Miura enriches the narrative with his innovative language, ensuring the dialogues resonate deeply with the audience.

The Diverse Cast

The cast features a vibrant lineup including actors and performers with varying backgrounds and experiences. Yui Wagawa has captivated audiences as the leading act in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic opening ceremony. Other notable performers include Amane Okayama, who commands attention with his expressive acting, and Miu Sakamoto, a musician celebrated for her captivating voice. KAZUKI brings her unique talents as a Deaf performer, and celebrity Ai Haruna rounds out the ensemble with her charismatic presence.

In addition to these talents, the stage features a range of incredible dancers, including the distinguished Mikaichi Omae, known for his inspirational performances on prosthetics, and Mizuki Kajimoto, whose journey with a hearing disability speaks volumes about resilience and creativity.

A Legacy of the Paralympics

Integrating elements from the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics' legacy, 'TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN' encapsulates the spirit of togetherness and innovation sparked by previous collaborations among the cast. The synergy remains strong as Moriyama, Kurisu, and other creators reunite to craft a groundbreaking artistic experience.

This creative endeavor embraces a broad range of spectators by developing a performance that can be understood through various means. With measures such as audio guides, sign language interpretation, and visual supports, they aim for an inclusive day out at the theater.
