Goya Foods Offers $20,000 Scholarships in Culinary Arts
Goya Foods, the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, has officially opened applications for its annual Culinary Arts and Food Science scholarships, each worth $20,000. These scholarships are intended for first-year college students across the nation pursuing degrees in culinary arts or food science.
Since its inception, the Goya Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships nationwide, extending support not only to students pursuing higher education but also to the children of Goya employees. The Goya Culinary Arts Scholarship is a competitive opportunity available to individuals enrolling in accredited two- or four-year programs.
Each scholarship grants $5,000 per academic year starting in the fall of 2025, with potential for renewal for up to three additional years provided the student maintains eligibility for funding. Notably, Bob Unanue, the President of Goya Foods, emphasized that every student deserves access to quality education and the chance to attend college. He stated, "As a key player in the food industry, Goya is committed to helping the next generation pursue their culinary passions while alleviating some of the financial burdens of higher education."
Candidates for the Goya Culinary Arts Scholarship will be evaluated based on standard criteria set forth by the Goya Scholarship Fund and administered by Scholarship America. Evaluation criteria include academic achievements, leadership characteristics, community service involvement, financial need, and the submission of an essay detailing how Goya has enriched their family traditions.
The scholarship application period runs until March 3, 2025. Interested candidates can find more information or submit their applications online at
Goya's scholarship page.
