PMET Partners with Koch Technology Solutions for Caesium Chemical Advancements

On April 15, 2026, PMET Resources Inc., a prominent pegmatite critical mineral exploration and development company, announced a strategic collaboration with Koch Technology Solutions (KTS), a division of Koch Inc. The objective is to evaluate advanced processing methods to develop value-added caesium chemicals from the Shaakichiuwaanaan resource, located in the James Bay region of Quebec, Canada.

Strategic Collaboration Overview

This partnership marks a significant step for PMET as it seeks to unlock the full potential of its globally significant caesium resource. The collaborative efforts will involve a comprehensive testwork program aimed at transforming caesium-rich pollucite concentrates into a variety of high-value chemical products. This not only represents an innovative approach to mineral extraction but could also enable PMET to establish itself as a key supplier within the critical industries of defense, aerospace, energy, and advanced electronics.

Unveiling the Shaakichiuwaanaan Resource

The Shaakichiuwaanaan Project is renowned for housing the world's largest in-situ pollucite-hosted caesium mineral resource, with impressive estimates of 0.69 million tonnes at 4.40% Cs2O (Indicated) and 1.70 million tonnes at 2.40% Cs2O (Inferred). The CV13 pegmatite, which holds these valuable mineral reserves, is strategically located just 3 km from the CV5 pegmatite, ensuring year-round accessibility via established infrastructure. This unique geological endowment solidifies PMET's position as a potential leader in caesium supply, a mineral recognized for its rarity and strategic importance in various industrial applications.

Experts Weigh In

Ken Brinsden, PMET’s CEO and Managing Director, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing that the Shaakichiuwaanaan site hosts what they believe to be the most substantial caesium discovery globally, characterized by significant scale and high-grade deposits. He noted, "Our collaboration with Koch Technology Solutions provides unprecedented access to industry expertise and innovative processing technologies, facilitating the exploration of high-value caesium chemical production pathways."

Koch Technology Solutions’ Role

KTS, recognized for delivering operational efficiency and capital productivity across its extensive portfolio, brings its robust engineering and commercial expertise to this collaboration. Garrett Krall, the Critical Minerals Business Leader at KTS, remarked on how the program unites the strengths of both companies to advance an innovative approach to critical minerals extraction. He stated, "This project symbolizes the challenging yet rewarding journey we are embarking on together. By combining our technological capabilities, we aim to unlock the inherent value of this essential mineral resource for various industries."

Looking Ahead

The testwork program is anticipated to take approximately four months, and once completed, it is expected to yield pathways for converting caesium concentrates into lucrative chemical compounds. PMET’s objective is to maximize the value captured from this remarkable resource while assessing its commercial viability.

In parallel to these efforts, PMET plans to continue exploration activities around the CV13 area as part of its extensive 2026 drilling campaign. These initiatives are designed to further delineate and expand upon recently announced discoveries, with plans for an updated Mineral Resource Estimate expected to be released in the second half of 2026.

The Shaakichiuwaanaan Project is not only poised to redefine PMET’s market position but also sheds light on the potential for caesium in emerging technological applications, including its use in next-generation solar panels aimed at improving energy generation efficiency. As PMET continues to forge pathways within the critical minerals landscape in North America, it stands to significantly contribute to the advancement of sustainable technology and essential industrial sectors.

For further updates on PMET Resources' journey and its collaboration with Koch Technology Solutions, stakeholders are encouraged to follow the ongoing developments and announcements regarding this promising venture.
