Celebration of Achievement: NSU Spring 2025 Graduation

One poignant narrative was that of Kayla Graham, a determined graduate from Shreveport who earned a master’s degree in psychology despite battling a rare form of cancer. Her resilience shone through as she shared her story, inspiring others to pursue their passions regardless of life’s challenges. "While there isn’t currently a cure for my condition, I am embracing life with intention, pursuing my goals and doing the things I love," she stated, highlighting the importance of determination in the face of adversity.

In a move that underscores NSU’s commitment to education accessibility, the institution invited graduating high school seniors who participated in Dual Enrollment programs to join in the ceremony. Thirty students from six high schools received Associate of General Studies degrees, showcasing the power of early college access and the benefits of dual enrollment initiatives. This initiative was praised by Stephanie Henson, the director of Electronic Learning and Global Engagement, who noted the significant dedication required to achieve such accomplishments while completing high school.

The festivities also welcomed back the Class of 1975, celebrating their 50-year association with the university.
