Frore Systems Unveils LiquidJet: A Leap in AI Data Center Cooling Technology
In an era where Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming ever more central to technological advancements, the need for efficient cooling systems in data centers has never been more imperative. Frore Systems is at the forefront of this evolution, having recently announced cutting-edge developments in its
LiquidJet™, a direct-to-chip liquid cooling coldplate designed specifically for AI data centers. These innovations not only enhance cooling performance but also make significant strides in tackling the challenges posed by extreme computational demands on data centers, both on Earth and potentially in outer space.
Breakthrough Developments
Frore Systems introduced LiquidJet with a unique 3D short-loop jet channel microstructure that was first demonstrated at OCP in October 2025. Initial tests showed a
50% improvement in cooling performance compared to conventional coldplates utilized with NVIDIA's 1400W Blackwell Ultra GPU. This was merely a precursor to the significant advancements announced recently.
The latest versions of LiquidJet incorporate a
multistage cooling architecture alongside
3D hybrid cell structures that deliver improved cooling performance for both NVIDIA’s Blackwell Ultra and the cutting-edge 1950W Rubin GPU. Specifically, the innovations lead to:
- - A 75% increase in cooling performance for the 1400W Blackwell Ultra, translating to a remarkable 7.7°C reduction in maximum GPU die temperature.
- - A cooling performance improvement of over 50%, or a 7.5°C decrease, in temperature for the 1950W NVIDIA Rubin GPU.
Additionally, Frore Systems has managed to cut the weight of the LiquidJet coldplate by more than 50% without compromising its reliability, making it a game-changer in the AI infrastructure landscape.
Impact on Performance and Cost
These advancements enable significantly enhanced GPU performance, drastically reducing AI model training times while maximizing token throughput. They collectively lead to improved power usage effectiveness (PUE), reduced water usage, lighter server rack configurations, and a marked decrease in the total cost of ownership (TCO).
Frore's CEO and Founder,
Seshu Madhavapeddy, emphasized the company's commitment to evolving with the technology, stating, “The improvements we've made to LiquidJet align with the fast-paced changes in AI models, GPUs, and data center architectures. Our design philosophy is rooted in adaptability and performance.”
Future-Proofing AI Infrastructure
The future of AI infrastructure rests upon scalable solutions that can withstand the surging demands of next-generation GPU architectures. Frore’s LiquidJet allows data centers to not just enhance performance but evolve without the need for extensive redesigns of existing facilities. By functioning as a
drop-in upgrade, LiquidJet is conducive for both newly constructed data centers and upgrades to established setups, ensuring a smooth transition to next-gen performance levels.
Madhavapeddy pointed out that, “The LiquidJet coldplate redefines cooling in AI data centers, establishing itself as a strategic enabler that enhances compute performance and reduces operational costs.” He further noted that as data centers expand into space, the dimensions of liquid volume and weight will gain unprecedented importance. LiquidJet’s lightweight nature is designed to meet these evolving needs.
Live Demonstrations at CES 2026
In an exciting announcement, Frore Systems will showcase
LiquidJet at
CES 2026, providing a glimpse into the future of data center cooling. The live demonstrations, taking place from January 6-9 at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas, will feature LiquidJet cooling systems handling extreme GPU workloads, and various innovative cooling solutions including
