Bridgewest Group's New Strategy for European Growth
The Bridgewest Group has taken a significant step towards enhancing its operations in Europe by appointing Ivan Mijatovic as Operating Partner and General Manager. This newly created role is designed to leverage Mijatovic's vast expertise and proven track record of success in finance, private equity, and venture capital within the healthcare and IT sectors.
Driving European Expansion
Over the past several years, Mijatovic has successfully led market expansion initiatives for various companies, particularly at Pontis Technology, where he served as Chairman. His leadership there resulted in record growth brought about through strategic acquisitions and market expansion efforts. Additionally, Mijatovic is also on the board of LumaCina, a top-tier pharmaceutical firm renowned for its sterile injection solutions. This diverse background positions him well to spearhead the Bridgewest Group's European ambitions.
A Legacy of Success
Mijatovic's career is marked by notable accomplishments even prior to joining Bridgewest. During his tenure at VCI Partners as Managing Partner, he explored investment opportunities in several promising firms including Tenex Health and STARK RFID. Prior to this, he held positions such as CFO and Chairman at Tenex, and Senior Vice President at Barr Pharmaceutical, where he played a vital role in optimizing global operations and financial strategies.
His influence extends further, having also served as CFO at Pliva Pharmaceuticals, one of the world's leading generic specialty pharmaceutical companies. Here, he oversaw finance, investor relations, and IT, as well as driving fiscal efficiencies. Not to mention, in the telecommunication sector, he guided Deutsche Telekom's expansion efforts across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. As Chairman of Hrvatski Telekom, he led a successful international funding campaign, resulting in an impressive $850 million investment.
A Vision for the Future
Dr. Massih Tayebi, Co-founder and Chairman of the Bridgewest Group, spoke highly of Mijatovic, citing their excellent working relationship and the promising potential for investing in innovative companies in Europe. "Ivan's remarkable international business acumen will continue to be a great asset for emerging enterprises," he noted.
Mijatovic expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, “I’m honored to take on this responsibility and am motivated by the opportunity to positively impact the region.
