Mitsui Fudosan Introduces AI Visitor Count and Vehicle Monitoring System at LaLaport Anjo

Mitsui Fudosan Launches AI Systems at LaLaport Anjo

Mitsui Fudosan announced that their new retail complex, LaLaport Anjo in Aichi Prefecture, is now equipped with advanced edge AI technologies to enhance visitor experiences and manage parking efficiently. The facility opened on April 18, 2025, and boasts features such as the DigiFlow system for counting visitors and DigiThrough for monitoring vehicle entry by license plate. This makes LaLaport Anjo the only facility in Japan to integrate all three AI solutions, which also include the Edge Guide parking guidance service.

The LaLaport Anjo complex spans four stories and features 215 stores, including 31 first-time retailers in Aichi Prefecture. Among its highlights are a rooftop park of around 3,800 square meters for enjoyment regardless of the weather, and a stadium court covering about 730 square meters, which can accommodate more than 1,000 visitors for immersive real experiences. With top-notch access via local and national roads, the facility also hosts a massive parking area capable of accommodating roughly 3,500 vehicles.

The introduction of these systems was made possible through collaboration with Neural Group, whose vision includes installing 28 cameras for visitor counting on the stadium court and in front of the rooftop park. These cameras automatically create visual graphs based on visitor data, making it easy to download CSV files. This functionality provides crucial metrics for assessing the effectiveness of past events and planning future activities.

In addition to visitor counts, the parking system captures license plate information from vehicles entering and exiting both surface and multi-story parking facilities. This data enables long-term analysis of regional visitor trends, duration of stay, and comprehensive insights into visitor movement within the facility. Such information is invaluable for effective parking guidance and future parking design, as well as marketing strategies.

Neural Group plans to leverage edge AI technology to enhance customer satisfaction through better management of events and parking experiences by analyzing visitor flow and stay duration.

Detailed Overview of the AI Systems

1. Expansive Implementation

With robust edge AI technology, the DigiFlow visitor analysis system and DigiThrough vehicle monitoring service have gained traction across various commercial and public facilities throughout Japan. These systems are defined by their operational stability, precision, and solid data protection measures.

2. Reliability and Security from Edge AI

By embedding cutting-edge deep learning algorithms within compact edge devices, Neural Group develops unique technologies separate from traditional methods, which often involve transmitting vast amounts of visual data to cloud servers. Thus, the company ensures stable operations, high levels of security and privacy, and reduced investment costs.

3. User-Friendly Interface

The web-based user interface (WEBUI) is designed to be straightforward, enabling various administrators to easily access and monitor the accumulated data in real time, thereby facilitating day-to-day operations effectively.
