Park Systems Completes Acquisition of Rocky Mountain Nanotechnology for Advanced Probes

Park Systems Expands Horizons with Rocky Mountain Nanotechnology Acquisition

In a significant strategic move, Park Systems Corp., a frontrunner in atomic force microscopy (AFM) solutions, has recently completed its acquisition of Rocky Mountain Nanotechnology LLC (RMN). This transaction marks an important step for Park Systems, allowing it to incorporate the manufacturing of ultra-high-purity solid metal probes directly into its operations.

A New Chapter in Probe Manufacturing

Founded in 2003 by Dr. Clayton Williams, RMN has earned a stellar reputation over two decades for producing high-precision AFM probes—exemplified by sharp solid-metal tips with radii as small as 10 nanometers. The probes manufactured by RMN cater to a variety of advanced AFM techniques, particularly for high-voltage applications including Conductive AFM (C-AFM), Electrostatic Force Microscopy (EFM), and several others critical for nanoscale research.

Dr. Sang-il Park, Founder and CEO of Park Systems, commented on the acquisition: "RMN's solid-metal probe technology complements our advanced electrical measurement modes, making this acquisition instrumental in securing a stable supply of high-performance specialty probes that our solutions rely on.” By bringing probe manufacturing in-house, Park Systems is ensuring that it remains at the forefront of innovation in nanotechnology.

Maintenance of Continuity During Transition

Park Systems has immediate plans to establish a dedicated facility for probe production in South Korea. This will be achieved through a technology transfer from RMN's existing operations in Salt Lake City, Utah. During this transition period, RMN will maintain its production to prevent any disruptions for their current customers.

Dr. Williams expressed optimism about the acquisition, stating, "Joining Park Systems not only extends the reach of our probe technology but also opens up new avenues for applications that we could not explore independently.” The acquisition is poised to enhance RMN's market presence significantly within the global AFM probe landscape.

Customer Commitment Remains Strong

For existing customers of RMN, the acquisition will not disturb their purchasing processes. Park Systems aims to ensure continuity in product supply while also expanding its offerings of new probes under the unified brand vision.
