Helfie AI, a pioneering AI-driven prevention network, has taken a significant step in transforming global healthcare by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Health Ministry of Homa Bay County in Kenya. This partnership aims to initiate a comprehensive pilot program focusing on tuberculosis (TB) and hypertension prevention for the population in Homa Bay.
The pilot project specifically targets 100,000 individuals deemed most vulnerable within five sub-districts of Homa Bay. Designed to encourage early detection and monitoring, this program will be accessible via users' mobile devices, streamlining the process of health checks and consultations. The extensive planning and collaboration that led to this initiative spanned nearly nine months and involved close cooperation between Helfie, the health officials of Homa Bay, and the county's public health team.
Rania Awad, Chief Strategy Officer at Helfie AI, emphasized the importance of this MoU, stating, "This agreement marks the launch of a proactive health screening project in partnership with the Homa Bay County government, aimed at early detection of TB and hypertension using Helfie’s technology. It reflects our vision for a future where health screenings can reach every household effectively and where the capability for early disease detection rests in the hands of individuals rather than a clinic that is miles away."
Moreover, Hon. Grace Mercy Osewe, a representative from the Homa Bay district, articulated her excitement over the project, highlighting the innovative approach it represents. "Innovation is at the heart of our ongoing efforts to effectively implement impactful health programs on a large scale. Helfie will assist us in understanding how to reach patients where they are while efficiently guiding them towards their next steps in care."
George Tomeski, CEO of Helfie AI, reiterated the organization’s commitment to global health equity, noting, "When we talk about reaching all eight billion people, we’re referring to individuals like a fisherman who may never see a clinic or households visited by health workers only once a month. The work we’re doing here in Homa Bay is making that a tangible reality. By enabling this community to access early detection and proactive preventive measures, we are taking a significant step towards a world where optimized well-being is accessible to everyone, everywhere."
Helfie operates as a global health platform prioritizing early detection, proactive prevention, and the enhancement of overall well-being for all. Through scientifically-backed and AI-supported systems, the platform offers over 30 immediate, affordable health checks directly accessible via smartphones.
