Launched Today: A Platform to Connect While Remembering Loved Ones on Their Death Anniversary

Remembering Loved Ones with 'Meguribi'

Today marks the launch of a groundbreaking platform called 'Meguribi', developed by the General Incorporated Association of Grief Care (located in Ota, Tokyo) and spearheaded by representative Aiko Morita. The beta version of this platform went live on May 11, 2026, at noon.

A New Way to Honor Memories

After the loss of someone significant, the feelings of remembrance persist in our hearts. However, spaces for sharing these emotions are often limited. Each year, as the death anniversary approaches, we reflect on our loved ones' faces, engaging in silent conversations in our minds. The time spent reminiscing and sharing these memories can be immensely enriching.

What is 'Meguribi'?

'Meguribi' allows users to create pages dedicated to deceased loved ones, enabling them to share thoughts and memories with others who knew them on their anniversaries. By crafting a space for personal memories, families and friends can converge from different locations to express their sentiments and foster a sense of community. This initiative encourages individuals not to carry their grief alone but to collectively remember those who have passed.

A Collaborative Effort

The vision for 'Meguribi' is a collaborative project involving three key figures:
  • - Daisuke Yanagisawa, CEO of Interesting Corporation Kayak
  • - Ken Kuwabata, Representative Director of the Japan Medical Design Center
  • - Aiko Morita, Representative Director of the General Incorporated Association of Grief Care
By combining their expertise, the team aims to present a fresh perspective on the cultural significance of death anniversaries unique to Japan.

An Ongoing Journey

Today, we unveil the beta version of 'Meguribi.' The platform aspires to be a sanctuary for everyone to preserve precious memories they wish to remember forever. 'Meguribi' is designed to grow gradually and thoughtfully based on user feedback and interactions. Each voice will play a crucial role in shaping the functionality, content, and community connections available on the platform.
