Taste of Saudi Culture at Taste of London 2026
From June 17 to June 21, 2026, the Saudi Culinary Arts Commission took part in the prestigious Taste of London event, celebrating the unique flavors of Saudi cuisine. Held at Regent's Park, this pavilion, titled "Taste of Saudi Culture," welcomed visitors eager to dive into the rich culinary heritage of the Kingdom.
The pavilion was designed to showcase the diversity of Saudi culinary practices, featuring a variety of regional dishes, local ingredients, and the warm hospitality that characterizes the culture. Visitors were treated to an array of traditional Saudi foods, enabling them to appreciate the depth and richness of the Kingdom's gastronomy.
Among the highlights was an array of traditional dishes such as Haneeth—tender lamb slow-cooked to perfection, Balila—a flavorsome chickpea dish, and Mutabbaq—a crispy stuffed pastry. In addition, attendees were invited to enjoy refreshing beverages inspired by Saudi flavors, including a mango mocktail infused with the traditional spice mix from the Hail region, and uniquely flavored ice creams featuring local ingredients like Kleija and Sidr honey.
Award-winning chefs Bader Alshaikh and Myasem Adham led live cooking demonstrations throughout the festival, imparting valuable culinary techniques to the audience and sharing stories that illustrated the cultural significance behind each dish. These engaging sessions not only emphasized the traditional cooking methods but also introduced contemporary Saudi culinary experiences to an international audience.
Beyond the culinary tastings, the pavilion also featured a marketplace showcasing Saudi brands specializing in food, arts, and handicrafts. Visitors could discover a selection of pottery, perfumes, chocolates, dates, teas, coffees, and various dried fruits and nuts. This provided a unique opportunity for attendees to purchase authentic Saudi products and take a piece of the culture home with them.
Mayada Badr, CEO of the Culinary Arts Commission, remarked, "Gastronomy serves as a unique window into culture, and the 'Taste of Saudi Culture' event provides an opportunity to share Saudi Arabia's culinary heritage with an international audience. Through traditional dishes, local ingredients, and our unique hospitality, we aim to share the richness of Saudi cuisine and the stories behind it."
The successful participation in Taste of London 2026 marked a significant step in the Commission's ongoing efforts to elevate Saudi Arabia's culinary heritage on a global stage. Committed to showcasing the rich diversity of the Kingdom's gastronomic culture, the Commission seeks to foster greater understanding and appreciation for Saudi cuisine around the world.
