Liberty HealthShare Cuts Costs Again for Seniors with Liberty Assist Program
Liberty HealthShare has announced another significant reduction in costs for its members participating in the Liberty Assist sharing program. Following a trend of prioritizing affordability, the ministry will eliminate the $500 Annual Unshared Amount (AUA), effective August 1, 2026. This change comes after a previous reduction, where the AUA was lowered from $1,500 to $500 in 2025. This series of modifications highlights Liberty HealthShare's commitment to supporting seniors, particularly those on fixed incomes who have felt the economic strain due to rising healthcare expenses.
Liberty Assist specifically targets seniors who are enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B. The program, designed for individuals aged 65 and over, has gained tremendous popularity due to its budget-friendly approach. Dorsey Morrow, the CEO of Liberty HealthShare, noted, "Inflation, especially healthcare inflation, has hit seniors on fixed incomes very hard. Eliminating the AUA could save our members $500 a year."
In conjunction with the AUA elimination, members will benefit from suggested monthly share contributions starting as low as $87. This makes Liberty Assist an appealing option for retirees looking to navigate the rising costs of healthcare while enjoying the community benefits of being a healthshare member. In addition to the sharing of eligible medical expenses that typically fall outside the coverage of Medicare, such as co-pays and deductibles, members also gain access to Liberty HealthShare’s additional dental and vision sharing programs, which can equate to substantial savings each year.
With Liberty Assist, members maintain the freedom to choose their healthcare providers and can easily submit bills for sharing by fellow members, assisting in addressing the gaps left by Medicare coverage. Morrow expressed, "It is a real blessing to be a part of an active and supportive Christian sharing community." He reinforced the notion that joining Liberty Assist not only provides financial relief but also fosters connections through shared values among members.
Beyond Liberty Assist, Liberty HealthShare has rolled out five other affordable medical cost-sharing programs tailored for individuals and families looking for alternatives to conventional health insurance. Monthly share amounts vary from $87 to $362 for individuals and start at $319 for family plans. Most of these programs also provide eligibility for urgent care and mental wellness telehealth visits, along with prescription drug discounts, enhancing their overall value.
Earlier this month, on May 11, Liberty HealthShare declared reductions in monthly sharing contributions for its most popular family memberships, resulting in an average decrease of 16%. This move comes alongside a commendable return of over $2 million to its members, signifying the organization’s focus on supporting its community members amid economic challenges.
As a healthcare sharing ministry rather than a traditional insurance entity, Liberty HealthShare permits year-round enrollment without any prerequisites for a qualifying life event, reflecting its adaptability to individual circumstances. For those seeking further information or considering enrollment, resources are available at LibertyHealthShare.org or via phone at (855) 585-4237.
