Dematic Partners with Eren Perakende to Revolutionize Distribution in Turkey
Dematic Collaborates with Eren Perakende in Turkey
On April 9, 2025, Dematic, a global leader in supply chain automation, unveiled an exciting partnership with Eren Perakende, aimed at automating their new distribution center in Istanbul, Turkey. This collaboration marks a significant step in Eren Perakende's commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and addressing growing market demands through advanced automation technologies.
Eren Perakende, with over 55 years of experience, connects renowned global brands with customers in Turkey. The company began its journey in 1990 by partnering with Devanlay to launch licensed production and distribution for Lacoste. Over the years, it has become the distributor for various international brands, including Burberry, Gant, Nautica, Converse, Intersport, and The Kooples. Employing a multi-channel strategy that broadens online sales networks, Eren Perakende also owns brands like House of SuperStep, SuperKids, Fashfed, and United4. Today, the company operates in 25 countries, employing over 8,000 people and boasting more than 600 stores alongside 17 digital channels, all while ensuring a customer experience-centric approach. The innovative automation solution from Dematic will be integrated into this new distribution center to boost productivity, enhance accuracy, and optimize overall supply chain efficiency.
Osman Şentürk, CEO of Eren Perakende, expressed, "As our business continues to grow, investing in automation is crucial to keep pace with increasing demand. Eren Perakende is on the verge of achieving $2 billion in revenue, and this investment allows us to provide a complete omnichannel experience to our clients. Partnering with Dematic not only increases efficiency and accuracy in our distribution operations but also empowers our ability to serve customers more effectively. This project is a significant milestone on our journey towards a smarter, more agile supply chain. We aim to raise our digital sales share from 25% to 35% and are already offering next-day and same-day delivery options to maximize customer convenience."
Enhancing Efficiency through Automation
Eren Perakende's decision to invest in automation stems from the challenges posed by an increasing workforce and rising operational costs, necessitating the optimization of order fulfillment processes. The fully automated system will be supported by Dematic’s sophisticated warehouse control software and will seamlessly integrate with Eren Perakende's existing SAP system for real-time inventory tracking, order processing, and fulfillment management.
Mithun Perinchery, Sales Director for Dematic in the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, stated, "We are excited to collaborate with Eren Perakende to implement an innovative automation solution that will transform distribution operations. This partnership is about combining smart design with high-quality technology to create a system that delivers real efficiency gains. Through our latest product-to-person (GTP) picking stations and our Dematic Multishuttle® technology, Eren Perakende will be able to expedite order fulfillment, reduce dependency on manual processes, and keep pace with increasing demand."
The GTP solution for Eren Perakende will feature a Dematic Multishuttle system that offers high density, efficient storage and rapid order picking. The system automatically supplies products to GTP picking stations, maximizing speed and accuracy in order fulfillment while minimizing reliance on manual labor. Additionally, an integrated conveyor network will facilitate seamless material flow from inbound storage to order fulfillment and shipment.
"Dematic Multishuttle enables Eren Perakende to leverage their warehouse space optimally, achieving faster and more accurate order fulfillment. The system's flexibility and modularity will allow it to grow alongside Eren Perakende, easily handling up to 4,000 load movements per hour. It’s all about executing operations smoothly and efficiently," Perinchery added.
Collaboration with Local Partners
To ensure a seamless transition, Dematic will provide on-site support from trained technicians and engineers during the initial phase, assisting with system optimization and performance enhancements. This period will also allow for hands-on training for Eren Perakende's operations, audit, and support personnel, ensuring they are fully equipped to maximize the benefits of the new automation solution.
Dematic is collaborating with its trusted local partner, ILA Automation Software A.S, to ensure smooth implementation and continuous service support in Turkey. Additionally, leading supply chain and logistics engineering consultancy SDZ GmbH played a vital role as a planning consultant on Eren Perakende's behalf, contributing to the design and integration of the new automation system. The SDZ Turkey team will support Eren Perakende's project team during implementation and commissioning utilizing their global expertise.
Yunus Emre Koç, CLO of Eren Perakende, commented, "This investment underscores our commitment to innovation and operational excellence. This project is a true collaboration, and we are thrilled to work with Dematic, ILA, and SDZ to bring this advanced solution into our distribution operations. It is a crucial step towards creating a smarter and more agile supply chain for the future."
The automation project is currently in its early stages, with implementation scheduled to start in June 2025.
