Embrace Pet Insurance Sets New Standards in Community Support
In the face of various economic hurdles, the trend of charitable giving in the U.S. continues to exhibit remarkable resilience. Recent data released by Giving USA 2024 revealed that nationwide donations exceeded an astonishing $557 billion in 2023. Amidst this encouraging background, Embrace Pet Insurance has made unprecedented strides in volunteerism and fundraising, as outlined in their recently published Community Impact Report, titled "Compassion Unleashed: Our 2024 Impact Journey."
The report highlights a staggering
88% increase in volunteer hours and a
56% increase in funds raised for nonprofit organizations compared to the previous year. This growth showcases Embrace's unwavering commitment to supporting local communities and animal welfare.
A Record-Breaking Year for Fundraising
In 2024, Embrace Pet Insurance managed to raise
$788,000 and had employees contribute
3,025 volunteer hours in support of over
140 nonprofit organizations across the country. These efforts have not only bolstered animal welfare initiatives but have also addressed broader community needs. The surge in charitable activities aligns with a national trend observed on GivingTuesday, where record contributions of
$3.6 billion were recorded from U.S. donors. Nearly half of the American population reported enhancing their giving efforts by the end of the year.
CEO Brian Macias expressed his enthusiasm for the company's impact in 2024, stating, "This update is always one of my favorites to share because it reflects the heart of who we are. Our impact in 2024 wasn't by chance—it came from intentional efforts to foster a culture of giving. From expanding volunteer PTO to organizing donation drives and service projects, we found new ways to make a difference. I'm excited to see how we continue building on this momentum."
EmbraceCLE: A Milestone Achievement
Since its inception in 2020, the EmbraceCLE Challenge has mobilized organizations in Northeast Ohio to participate in a friendly competition aimed at raising funds and awareness for various causes. With
30.8% of Cleveland residents living below the poverty line, programs like EmbraceCLE are vital in supporting nonprofits that provide essential resources and services to improve community well-being.
In 2024, the campaign reached a significant milestone by surpassing
$1.2 million in total funds raised for Northeast Ohio nonprofits. This year, the campaign alone raised
$265,015, representing a
62% increase from the previous year, amplifying its influence on the local community. For a rundown of the winners in the 2024 EmbraceCLE Challenge, check out their dedicated page.
Investing in Future Vets
The veterinary profession faces increasing challenges characterized by surmounting student debt and mental health issues. Recognizing these growing pains, Embrace Pet Insurance collaborated with the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) in 2024 to initiate a multi-year scholarship program designed to support aspiring veterinarians with substantial financial relief.
Through this initiative, five veterinary students each received
$5,000 in scholarships, all aimed at easing financial constraints as they embark on their careers in shelter medicine, focusing on providing care for homeless and at-risk animals. One notable recipient, Larrea Cottingham of Washington State University, highlighted the importance of the scholarship, stating, "It is an honor to receive a scholarship that supports my passion for providing veterinary care to animals in need, whether through high-volume spay and neuter services or expanding access to veterinary care in rural communities. This award not only helps to alleviate the financial burden of my education but also represents an investment in my vision for a future where the well-being of all animals is recognized and prioritized."
A Culture of Compassion in Action
Embrace's dedication to charitable giving transcends organized initiatives, as employees contribute thousands of hours to causes close to their hearts. This commitment mirrors the broader national trend, with recent data from AmeriCorps and the U.S. Census Bureau estimating that
75.7 million U.S. adults volunteered between September 2022 and September 2023, collectively contributing roughly
5 billion hours of service.
