On November 7, 2026, Tokyo will commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships and the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics with a spectacular event titled "RUNS: INTO KK©". Hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, this event invites both athletics fans and running enthusiasts to partake in festivities along the historic KK Line, which served as a key route during the competitions.
This special celebration promises a day filled with various running activities and a ceremony reflecting on the achievements of the past year. Participants will have the unique opportunity of experiencing a festive atmosphere where both runners and spectators can unite and enjoy the space that the KK Line offers.
The spotlight of the event will feature notable athletes including Hayato Katsuki, who won a bronze medal in the men's 35km race walk at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships, Masatora Kawano, the Japanese record holder for the same discipline, and Maki Yamada, who earned gold medals in men’s 400m and 400m relay, along with a silver in the men's 200m at the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics. More athletes and special guests are also expected to join in as the event date approaches.

Event Programs (Pre-Registration Required)
1. Mile RUNS (10:05 AM & 3:30 PM):
- Fee: 1,500 Yen per person/group, first-come-first-served (3,700 participants)
- Participants will run a unique 1-mile event (1.6km) on the KK line, divided into categories such as "Women’s", "Family", "Kids & Juniors", and "RUN & WALK (General)" for varied participation.
2. Anniversary Stage (11:30 AM):
- Free, first-come-first-served (800 participants)
- This stage will feature speeches from competing athletes and special interactive sessions that celebrate the legacy of both championships.
3. World Record Challenge (1:00 PM):
- Fee: 1,000 Yen per person, lottery system (approximately 90 participants)
- Participants will take part in a relay race, aiming to complete a 100m race in the hopes of breaking a world record.
4. Night Relay RUNS (6:00 PM):
- Fee: 1,500 Yen per team (200 teams)
- A distinctive 2-hour endurance relay will take place on a 1km loop course, where teams will compete in a relay format. Special guest runners may also join to enhance the experience.
