UBTECH Unveils UWORLD U1: A Revolutionary Step in Humanoid Robotics

UBTECH Unveils the Revolutionary UWORLD U1 Series

On June 30, 2026, in a groundbreaking event held in Shenzhen, UBTECH unveiled the UWORLD U1 Series, the world's first full-size, mass-produced ultra-bionic humanoid robots. This launch marks a significant milestone in UBTECH's long-term vision of achieving harmonious human-robot collaboration. The event revealed not just the U1 robots but also the company's ambitious plans for integrating robotics into everyday life.

Highlights from the Launch Event

Led by James Zhou, the founder and CEO of UBTECH, the event showcased three impressive models: the U1 Lite, a semi-torso edition; the U1 Pro, which boasts high-performance full-body functions; and the U1 Ultra, designed for high-dynamic operations. Pricing for these innovative models starts at 119,800 RMB, reflecting UBTECH's strategic positioning in the consumer robotics market. On the launch day, the company reported accumulating over 13,361 orders for the UWORLD U1 Series, demonstrating strong market interest and demand.

Zhou articulated UBTECH’s vision, which unfolds in three phases: first, automating hazardous or repetitive tasks; second, integrating robots into daily life as companions and service providers; and finally, achieving seamless human-robot interactions.

The Evolution of Robotics

Having already made a name in industrial robotics, UBTECH’s shift toward consumer applications aims to normalize humanoid robots in ordinary settings. With two decades of technological advancement behind it, UBTECH is pivoting from primarily focusing on industrial applications to putting humanoids into homes and communities. They aim for humanoid robots to become fixtures in everyday life, greatly enhancing personal interactions and support roles.

Michael Tam, UBTECH's Chief Brand Officer, emphasized the broader implications of human-robot companionship on mental health. He mentioned the potential for these robots to transform consumer categories by providing emotional support, especially as the mental health landscape continues to evolve in the face of modern challenges. The market for ultra-bionic humanoid robots in China is projected to expand from billions to potentially a trillion RMB within the next decade.

Advanced Technology Behind UWORLD U1

Each UWORLD U1 robot integrates an extensive technology stack developed completely in-house. These include features like biomimetic skin, advanced embodied intelligence hardware, and emotion-driven large language models (LLMs) that facilitate nuanced emotional interactions. The robots exhibit 88 degrees of freedom, allowing them to replicate around 90% of human movements.

A notable innovation is the world’s first emotion-aware LLM, capable of recognizing over 20 different emotional states with an impressive accuracy rate of more than 90%. This makes the interaction with UWORLD robots not just functional but profoundly human-like.

Moreover, a biomimetic expression actuation system minimizes synchronization delays between speech and lip movements down to just 20 milliseconds, creating almost lifelike conversational abilities. The Agent Memory OS enables a continuous digital life framework for the users, further personalizing interactions.

Commitment to Social Responsibility

At the heart of the UWORLD initiative is the “Human-Robot Companionship Initiative,” aimed at addressing rising issues of isolation and mental health among various demographic groups. With over 90 million adults living alone in China, UBTECH's initiative to donate 100 humanoid robots annually targets vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly, aiming to enhance their emotional well-being through tailored robotic support that includes features like 3D facial recognition and long-term memory.

The robots are equipped for varied applications, from daily companionship to providing lifelike interaction interfaces in hospitality and elder care. Their versatility shows UBTECH’s broad vision of integrating humanoid robots not just into markets but into the fabric of society.

With the launch of UWORLD, UBTECH is poised to reshape the robotics landscape, creating durable, emotionally-engaged companions that promise to enrich individuals' experiences while also addressing societal challenges. The ongoing adventure into human-robot collaboration opens up exciting avenues for both users and the industry.
