PIS Unveils Its Global Growth Strategy and Expansion Plan at Posidonia 2026

On June 5, 2026, PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), the integrated maritime logistics subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), took the stage at one of the world's largest maritime exhibitions, Posidonia 2026, to showcase Indonesia's growing maritime capabilities and its ambitious global growth plans.

Strategic Presence at Posidonia 2026

During the event in Athens, Greece, PIS's President Director, Surya Tri Harto, highlighted the company’s vision to become a leading integrated maritime and logistics player in the industry. This ambition was presented during a special forum hosted in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Athens, titled "Global Outreach: An Overview of the Maritime and Shipping Industry in Indonesia." The forum brought together international maritime players, shipowners, investors, logistics firms, and industry leaders to explore emerging opportunities within Indonesia's evolving maritime sector.

Ambassador Dr. Bebeb A.K. Nugraha Djundjunan also spoke at the forum, emphasizing Indonesia's strategic position as the world's largest archipelagic state and a vital maritime gateway in Asia. He detailed investment opportunities across various domains, including shipping, port operations, logistics, shipbuilding, fisheries, offshore energy, and the development of the blue economy. The discussion also centered on bolstering connections between Indonesia, ASEAN, Greece, and Europe through an integrated logistics approach that supports resilient global trade routes.

The S4GO Concept: A Vision for the Future

Surya Tri Harto introduced PIS's long-term concept called "S4GO," which aims to elevate the company into a leading integrated maritime and logistics force. This multifaceted strategy is designed to strengthen PIS's core shipping business by expanding third-party freight services and modernizing the fleet with environmentally friendly vessels.

In addition to freight services, PIS is accelerating its global expansion through strategic partnerships and establishing a commercial footprint in key international markets. The S4GO plan also focuses on enhancing PIS’s offshore portfolio, incorporating floating energy infrastructure like Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO), Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), and Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) units while promoting a sustainability agenda. This includes dual-fuel solutions, non-fossil fuel refueling options, and the modernization of terminals to meet new regulatory standards.

Currently, PIS operates 65 international routes with 63 vessels worldwide, effectively leveraging Indonesia’s geographical advantages. The company’s operations span five key sectors: shipping, maritime services, port operations, asset ownership, and logistics.

Strengthening Indonesia's Position in the Global Maritime Ecosystem

As part of its long-term vision, PIS aims to enhance its role as a regional pioneer in shipping and logistics, connecting Indonesia with major global markets. Surya Tri Harto reiterated the company's commitment to reinforcing Indonesia's standing within the global maritime ecosystem.

In addition to its activities at Posidonia 2026, PIS engaged in strategic discussions with prominent international shipping companies to explore future opportunities for collaboration, optimize operational excellence, and develop maritime services. This initiative not only highlights PIS’s proactive approach to expanding its global presence but also aligns with Indonesia's broader vision of strengthening its maritime capabilities.

By establishing such connections and partnerships, PIS is poised to contribute significantly to the growth of Indonesia's maritime industry, fostering innovation and sustainability in one of the most dynamic sectors of the economy.
