As the vibrant colors of autumn sweep across Tokyo, the Komagome Community Cultural Center stands out as the epicenter of cultural activities. The anticipated 39th Komagome Community Arts Festival will take place over the weekend of November 15 and 16, promising a rich tapestry of community spirit and creativity. Organised by the Toshima Mirai Cultural Foundation, this year’s theme is “Creating a Culture Festival Together.”

A Cultural Celebration


With its prime location just a minute's walk from Komagome Station, the festival leverages its accessibility to harbor an array of activities that not only celebrate the center’s ongoing programs but also foster collaboration with neighboring landmarks such as Rikugien Gardens and the historic Koganei Garden. Educational institutions like Joshi Eiyo University and Toyonan High School are also participating, marking this year’s event as a pioneering collaboration in the area.

Visitors will have the opportunity to engage not only as spectators but also as participants, with various experiences designed to stir new hobbies and connections. Entry to the festival is completely free, making it an inviting space for everyone.

3. An Immersive Cultural Experience: Attendees can indulge in the diverse outputs of local artistic endeavors through exhibitions and live performances.
- Exhibits: A display of works including paintings, photography, haiku, and traditional Tsugaru kogin embroidery, highlighting local artists’ talents.
- Live Performances: Enjoy a musical opening by the Komagome Youth Choir, alongside lively showcases of ukulele music, traditional bon odori dances, and K-Pop performances.

To make the event even more special, the festival’s mascot, Toshima-kun, will make an appearance to cheer on the participants!
