Microverse's STUDIO DELTA Debuts Short Drama 'Numabuchi' on FANY:D

Microverse's STUDIO DELTA Introduces 'Numabuchi'

On July 3, 2025, Microverse's content production studio, STUDIO DELTA, will unveil an innovative short drama titled 'Numabuchi' through the short drama app FANY:D. This series presents a contemporary twist on the Cinderella story, featuring a serious public servant named Asuna who seeks liberation from her mundane and oppressive daily life by becoming immersed in the world of Kabuki and host culture.

Unveiling a New Form of Entertainment

Short dramas have rapidly gained popularity due to their ability to convey tightly woven stories in a brief time frame. However, while various short dramas thrive globally, especially from China, Japan has yet to create a standout hit in this format. STUDIO DELTA believes that harnessing Japan's unique cultural elements to produce compelling short dramas is a vital mission.

With 'Numabuchi', the production aims to represent deep emotional transitions, weaving elements of Tokyo's Kabukicho district and the intriguing world of hosts into a narrative that is rich with emotional complexity and personal struggle.

The Storyline

The plot of 'Numabuchi' revolves around Asuna, a diligent public servant facing immense stress from her job and toxic family dynamics. Initially skeptical of the host culture, Asuna's life takes a turn when she meets Louis, a charismatic host who offers her the emotional solace she desperately needs. Despite her dwindling finances and accumulating debt, Asuna finds comfort in his presence as she navigates the thrill and pitfalls of forbidden love while embarking on a transformative journey.

The narrative explores themes of suppressed emotions, the desire for validation, and the pleasure derived from falling into despair, all encapsulated in the brisk storytelling style of short dramas. 'Numabuchi' aims to resonate with viewers by delving into emotional fractures that many can relate to, inviting them to reflect on their own inner struggles.

Collaboration with FANY:D

FANY:D, released in December 2024 by a consortium of Yoshimoto Kogyo, NTT Docomo Studio & Live, and Minto, is a vertical short drama app designed to cater to modern viewers. Each episode lasts between one to three minutes, with select episodes available for free viewing before requiring payment for subsequent content. The app is designed for a fast-paced audience eager for quick yet impactful narratives.

In collaboration with FANY:D, Microverse aims to deliver groundbreaking forms of entertainment. The surge in popularity of this platform aligns perfectly with STUDIO DELTA's mission to produce innovative and captivating content.
