Airweave Expands Logistics with New Facility

Airweave Inc., led by Chairman and President Honshu Takaoka, is proud to announce the establishment of its latest logistics hub, the "East Japan Distribution Center," in Koriyama, Fukushima. Set to commence operations on June 3, 2026, this strategic initiative aims to enhance the company's logistics framework across the East Japan region.

Purpose of the New Facility

Earlier in 2023, Airweave inaugurated the "West Japan Distribution Center" in Ichinomiya, Aichi Prefecture, strengthening its logistics operations in the western region. The upcoming East Japan facility marks a significant step towards expanding the company's logistical network on the eastern front. By leveraging the logistics solutions from Yamato Transport Co., Ltd., headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Airweave aims to optimize the entire supply chain. This includes centralizing storage and shipping capabilities, allowing Airweave to focus solely on production activities, thereby improving overall productivity.

One of the standout advantages of the new center is its proximity to customers in the Kanto region and northwards. This will enable quicker dispatch, reducing lead times from order to delivery. Furthermore, the facility is poised to enhance long-distance transport routes and reduce logistics costs, offering a significant improvement in operational efficiency.

As Airweave consolidates its two-location strategy, the company envisions a stable supply system that ensures prompt delivery services, ultimately driving customer satisfaction.

Features of the East Japan Distribution Center

The East Japan Distribution Center is situated within the "Koriyama Logistics Solution Center," a comprehensive business solution hub, which integrates Yamato Transport's logistics functions and sorting/distribution capabilities. Spanning approximately 1,400 tsubo (around 4,620 square meters), the center is strategically located at a pivotal traffic juncture where the Tohoku Expressway intersects with the Ban-etsu Expressway. Notably, it is approximately 70 km from the Fukushima factory and 250 km from Tokyo, ensuring excellent accessibility to key regions. This location allows Airweave to address challenges associated with long-distance transportation effectively.

Equipped with solar power and storage battery systems, the center is designed with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, sourcing its energy needs from renewable sources. The facility will serve multiple logistics functions, including serving as a distribution point for Airweave's customers, a supply center for materials, and a storage site for products.
