IMPT Secures $30 Million in Funding
IMPT, a global travel and shopping application based in Dublin, has successfully raised $30 million to support its rapid expansion. This funding marks a significant milestone as it aims to integrate AI and machine learning technologies while emphasizing sustainability in its business model. IMPT's platform currently offers consumers access to more than four million hotels worldwide and over 20,000 retailers across 195 countries.
Central to IMPT's mission is its commitment to carbon reduction. For every transaction made through IMPT Hotels and IMPT shopping, users can offset their carbon footprint by supporting impactful projects such as reforestation and renewable energy initiatives, including wind, solar, and biogas projects. This not only positions IMPT as a leader in sustainable practices but also allows consumers to contribute toward eco-friendly efforts with each purchase.
The raised funds will focus on strengthening marketing strategies aimed at increasing user acquisition, thereby enhancing brand awareness and promoting repeat purchases. IMPT's hotel service is available through both B2B and B2C formats, including an intuitive app that streamlines the booking process. Users can earn up to 45% cash back in rewards, which can then be converted into carbon credits linked to their chosen climate projects.
Denis Creighton, Co-Founder of IMPT, stated: "Our goal is to offer consumers unbeatable value on hotel stays and shopping while fostering significant contributions to carbon reduction. We currently provide rates that are 16% lower than competing online travel operators, which is a testament to our commitment to providing the best experience for our customers."
Creighton expressed optimism about IMPT's growth trajectory, acknowledging the increasing number of consumers actively booking travel and shopping online.
Technology plays a crucial role in IMPT's operations. Mike English, the creator of IMPT, highlighted the integration of AI and machine learning to drive development and innovation within the company. As IMPT continues to evolve, it will also explore blockchain technology to effectively manage the purchasing and carbon offsetting process.
The carbon offset initiative aims to empower consumers to make meaningful reductions in their carbon footprints, fostering a sense of responsibility and engagement in eco-conscious practices. Users have the ability to select from a list of 40 projects supported by IMPT across four continents, ranging from tree planting in Spain to wind energy projects in India.
