Shanghai Electric Shines at Intersolar Europe 2025 with Innovative Energy Solutions

Shanghai Electric Shines at Intersolar Europe 2025

Shanghai Electric made a remarkable impact at the Intersolar Europe 2025 trade fair, held from May 7 to 9 in Munich, Germany. As a leading player in the global solar industry, the company unveiled an array of innovative solutions tailored to accelerate Europe’s transition towards carbon neutrality. Their presence not only highlighted advancements in solar energy but also emphasized their commitment to hydrogen technology and energy storage solutions.

A Commitment to Carbon Neutrality

The pursuit of carbon neutrality represents a critical strategic goal for many nations, necessitating collaborative global efforts. Shanghai Electric is at the forefront of this movement, connecting the world with innovative technologies to promote the large-scale adoption of green energy solutions. They are transforming Chinese expertise into a crucial asset for sustainable development on a global scale.

Innovative Hydrogen Technology

One of the key highlights of their presentation was the launch of the next generation of Bristack® series electrolyzers, developed by Shanghai Bright-H Technology, a subsidiary of Shanghai Electric. Certified by TÜV Rheinland, these electrolyzers showcase models that range from alkaline types with a capacity of 100-3000 Nm³/h to PEM models with 10-400 Nm³/h. Leveraging state-of-the-art gas-liquid transmission technology, these electrolyzers stand out with high current density and low energy consumption.

The production capabilities are impressive, featuring 1 gigawatt for alkaline electrolyzers and 200 megawatts for PEM models annually, making large-scale hydrogen generation a practical reality.

Outstanding Photovoltaic Solutions

Shanghai Electric also presented its latest photovoltaic technologies, including the Creator 210R heterojunction modules, which boast a remarkable output of 640 W and offer 90% bifaciality. Their cost-effective TOPCon modules and the aesthetically diverse BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) solutions cater to various market demands. These modular and sustainable construction offerings are designed to enhance low-carbon energy supply while improving installation efficiency by up to 50%.

Additionally, the company showcased a streamlined assembly system that utilizes five modules, including a unique support system and BIPV roof, which can be quickly assembled with self-tapping screws. This flexibility can harness the value of underutilized land.

A Vision for a Greener Future

At Intersolar Europe 2025, Shanghai Electric underscored its collaborative innovations in solar energy, hydrogen production, and energy storage while integrating high-end equipment with intelligent energy systems. Their multi-energy system, combining solar and hydrogen storage solutions, is strategically designed to optimize both investment and operational costs.

Shanghai Electric's support and monitoring systems allow the exploitation of non-used land, while their lifecycle services ensure long-term benefits for projects, thereby enhancing overall energy efficiency.

Based on their local adaptations and extensive experience, Shanghai Electric is poised to accelerate Europe’s transition to a green energy future and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The company has already developed, constructed, and successfully operated eight photovoltaic projects in the UK, featuring 220 MWh of energy storage, with 100 MWh currently operational. These initiatives are projected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 112,000 tons annually.

Their photovoltaic project in Romania, in collaboration with Shanghai Electric, will generate green electricity for over 120,000 households once completed. Furthermore, the Pancevo thermal power plant in Serbia, designed in compliance with European standards and developed by Shanghai Electric, has delivered more than 950 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, significantly easing local electricity supply constraints.
