Reviving the Joy of Singing: The First Exchange Event
On March 15, 2026, Corroquium will host its inaugural exchange event titled
"Reignite the Love for Singing," featuring the hands-free artificial larynx, Laryphonix. This unique gathering aims to provide a platform for individuals who have lost their voices due to conditions such as laryngeal and pharyngeal cancer, allowing them to express themselves through song once again.
The inspiration behind this event stems from numerous interviews with individuals who have undergone voice box removal. Many expressed a profound desire to sing, a passion that often remains obscured after losing their vocal ability. This event seeks to explore the potential for those affected by such circumstances to reclaim their voices and their identity through music.
The event will include an exciting lineup of activities. Participants will have the opportunity to try out the
Laryphonix device and experience singing in tandem with live instrumental performances. The collaboration with the talented members of the
Tokyo University student team, Sanbyaku, will enrich the atmosphere, as they provide accompaniment to create a vibrant exchange centered around music and artistry.
As part of the program, participants will engage in a singing experience that utilizes relatively simple melodies like
"Sakura Sakura". This will not only showcase the capabilities of the Laryphonix device but also serve as an interactive gateway into musical expression. Through this experience, we hope to explore the possibilities of tailored karaoke that fits each participant’s unique needs and abilities.
