San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium: 42nd Anniversary Gala Celebrates Health Leaders Making a Difference

Honoring Community Health Leaders at SFCCC's 42nd Gala

On June 5, 2025, the San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium (SFCCC) will commemorate its 42nd anniversary with a gala event held at the historical Green Room in the San Francisco War Memorial. This special evening seeks to unite leaders from the healthcare sector, public services, and community advocacy groups to applaud initiatives and individuals striving for health equity in the heart of San Francisco.

Celebrating Exceptional Leaders

This year's gala will shine a spotlight on three distinguished award recipients who embody the spirit and determination behind community health efforts.

Senator Scott Wiener

One of the honorees is Senator Scott Wiener, recognized for his unwavering legislative advocacy aimed at broadening healthcare access and safeguarding LGBTQ+ rights in California. His tireless work has played a crucial role in reinforcing the state's healthcare system amidst fluctuating needs and fiscal challenges, ensuring that vulnerable populations can obtain necessary care.

Drs. Richard and Tricia Gibbs

The event will also honor Doctors Richard and Tricia Gibbs for their remarkable contribution to the San Francisco community. With over three decades of service, the couple co-founded the San Francisco Free Clinic in 1993, providing free, high-quality healthcare to uninsured individuals. Their pioneering efforts have greatly enhanced primary care education for many aspiring medical professionals, ultimately transforming lives in the community.

City College of San Francisco's Community Health Worker Program

Furthermore, the City College of San Francisco's Community Health Worker (CHW) Program will be acknowledged for its critical role in cultivating a skilled local healthcare workforce. Since its inception in 1992, this program has trained frontline workers deeply rooted in their communities, many of whom now serve in SFCCC's affiliated clinics.

A Night to Remember

In addition to honoring the awardees, the gala will feature an array of food and beverages as well as a concise program, which includes the launch of a new video spotlighting the CHW program. As SFCCC and its 12 member clinics continue to navigate an evolving healthcare landscape, this gala will provide an opportunity to reflect on the past year’s achievements and reinforce the commitment to a more equitable future in health.

All proceeds from the gala will directly support the SFCCC's comprehensive efforts to enhance access to community-centered care, ultimately striving for a healthier San Francisco for all residents. This gathering is not just a celebration; it's a pledge to ongoing improvement and dedication to the diverse communities that make up this vibrant city.
