FutureCeuticals and Aura Scientific Resolve Coffee Patent Dispute, Initiate New Collaboration

FutureCeuticals and Aura Scientific: End of a Patent Dispute

In a significant development in the nutraceutical industry, FutureCeuticals, Inc. (commonly referred to as FC) and Aura Scientific (Aura) have resolved their long-standing patent and trademark litigation concerning the coffee fruit ingredient known as NeuroRush®. This critical settlement acknowledges the patent rights of FutureCeuticals and facilitates a seamless transition to their product, CognatiQ®.

The announcement was made on September 3, 2026, from Momence, Illinois, where both companies expressed their satisfaction with the resolution, which they believe reinforces the integrity of both entities in the health sector. J. Randal Wexler, Vice President and General Counsel of FutureCeuticals, highlighted the importance of protecting intellectual property in fostering innovation and ensuring the continuation of investment in clinical research.

“We are pleased that Aura has recognized the validity of our intellectual property in cognitive health, reinforcing its value in the market,” Wexler remarked. This sentiment echoes the industry’s increasing focus on research-backed ingredients, reflecting a shift toward more scientifically validated health products.

With this resolution, Aura will be discontinuing the NeuroRush® ingredient and will begin to transition its customers to CognatiQ®. Kyle Seymour, Product Development Director at Aura, voiced excitement over the new product, underscoring its clinical backing and scientific expertise, which aligns with the needs of their clientele. “CognatiQ® represents an equivalent compositional substitute for NeuroRush, with the added benefit of strong clinical support,” Seymour pointed out.

Moreover, both companies are optimistic about this new chapter, as it opens avenues for collaboration on innovative health ingredients that offer substantial consumer benefits. “This outcome is a win-win for both parties, paving a promising path forward,” Wexler added, stressing the advantageous positioning of Aura in the wellness market.

As the two companies embark on this new collaboration, they aspire to focus on projects where Aura’s market insight and product development experience align with FutureCeuticals’ robust portfolio of clinically supported ingredients. Seymour expressed gratitude for FutureCeuticals’ willingness to engage constructively, emphasizing a mutual goal to enhance customer satisfaction and deliver high-quality wellness solutions.

This collaborative spirit exemplifies the broader trend within the nutraceuticals industry, where partnerships can drive innovation and meet the evolving demands of consumers seeking effective health supplements. FutureCeuticals, a leader in the research, development, and manufacturing of fruit, vegetable, and grain-based powders and extracts, continues to solidify its role in this dynamic sector with products like CognatiQ® and NeuroFactor®, which are exclusively available through their platform.

Aura Scientific, on the other hand, is recognized for its groundbreaking approach in developing differentiated nutraceutical ingredients for dietary supplements. Their product line includes innovations such as EndoFlo™ and ProtoTest™, further asserting their commitment to improving consumer health through scientifically advanced ingredients.

As both companies navigate this new partnership, the outlook is bright for their future endeavors in the realm of health and wellness. The emphasis on collaboration and innovation is likely to yield fruitful outcomes, contributing to the growth of the nutraceutical market as they work together to release new, clinically backed products to consumers eagerly awaiting the next generation of health supplements.
