Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux Unveils Innovative Sports Bar Model in Baton Rouge

Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux: The Future of Sports Bars

Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is evolving the traditional sports bar model with exciting new developments for its hometown of Baton Rouge. Recently announced by the brand, which has earned the title of ESPN's #1 Sports Bar in America, a new location is set to open at 8150 Perkins Road in early 2027. This marks a significant milestone as the company aims to reshape the way fans enjoy games, eat, and connect in a sports-centric environment.

A Vision for the Future

This new location represents not just an expansion, but a transformation rooted in insightful trends observed over two decades. Brandon Landry, the founder and CEO of Walk-On's, emphasized the importance of returning to Baton Rouge, where it all began 23 years ago. With proprietary insights gained since launching in 2003 and franchising in 2014, Walk-On's is set to reveal an innovative prototype that reflects the modern-day sports fan's experience.

What’s New?

The upcoming restaurant will adopt a compact footprint between 3,500 to 4,500 square feet, significantly smaller than the typical 7,000 to 8,000 square feet that Walk-On's locations have traditionally occupied. This shift underscores a commitment to efficiency, providing improved sightlines to screens, enhanced acoustics, and a streamlined kitchen layout. Besides, the design caters to an array of dining occasions, with facilities for takeout, catering, and off-premise events.

Additionally, a development budget of below $2 million will lower financial barriers and lessen complexity in opening a new site. This is a welcome update for aspiring franchisees, enabling them to realize their dream of operating a local sports bar while adjusting to the modern challenges posed by rising construction costs and inflationary pressures.

The Fan-Centric Approach

The team at Walk-On's is not merely shrinking the restaurant; they are rethinking it entirely.
