Nanjing Hosts 2025 Industrial Technology Innovation and Investment Conference
On March 26, 2025, the city of Nanjing in Jiangsu Province became the center of attention as it hosted the 2025 Industrial Technology Innovation and Investment Promotion Conference. The event welcomed around 800 participants, including distinguished guests from global enterprises, universities, innovation platforms, foreign embassies, and international organizations. The central theme of the conference, "Innovate for Excellence, Invest in the Future," emphasized the city’s commitment to fostering innovation and attracting investment.
The conference provided a comprehensive overview of Nanjing’s industrial investment landscape, highlighted successful case studies of technological advancements, and discussed the achievements made in technology and innovation reform. Among the significant announcements made during the event were plans for 102 major projects, which are estimated to bring over 130 billion yuan (approximately $18 billion USD) in planned investments into the region.
As a testament to its dedication to technological development, Nanjing also inaugurated several innovation platforms. These included the Jiangsu Provincial Concept Validation Center, which aims to facilitate the development of innovative ideas, and the Nanjing Academy for Scientific and Technological Achievements Transformation, designed to accelerate the practical application of research outcomes. Additionally, the Nanjing (Jiangbei New Area) Disruptive Technology Innovation Center was launched to champion radical innovations that can transform traditional industries into high-growth sectors.
The establishment of four industrial task forces focused on artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, biopharmaceuticals, and next-generation information and communications technology (ICT) was another highlight of the conference. The formation of the Nanjing Industrial Investment Promotion Center was also announced, designed to consolidate resources and enhance Nanjing's capacity in high-end and sustainable productivity sectors.
