MetLife Japan Unveils 'Life Invest Next'
MetLife Insurance Co., Ltd., led by CEO Dirk Osteen, is excited to announce the launch of their latest product, 'Life Invest Next' (officially named Variable Insurance (2025)), starting August 1, 2025. This innovative insurance option aims to combine the benefits of whole life insurance with the adaptability and investment potential of variable insurance, catering specifically to the diverse needs of customers.
Understanding 'Life Invest Next'
'Life Invest Next' integrates comprehensive protection and investment functionalities, making it a unique offering in the market. During the premium payment period, policyholders will enjoy robust coverage for death and severe disability. After the premium payment period, customers can choose between two types of guarantees: Type I provides a minimum guaranteed amount of 50% of the coverage specified at the time of signing the contract, while Type II adjusts according to the policy's performance and accumulated amount. Notably, policyholders can continue to invest in special accounts for a lifetime even after premium payments are complete.
Additionally, the policy offers a unique rider that waives further premium payments for customers diagnosed with one of the three major diseases: cancer (including malignant tumors and in-situ tumors), heart disease, or cerebrovascular disorders, allowing customers to maintain their protection and asset formation uninterrupted in challenging times.
Features of 'Life Invest Next'
- - Lifelong Death/Security Coverage: Securing essential protection for the entirety of the policyholder's life.
- - Flexible Contract Types: Customers can select from Type I or Type II according to their individual needs.
-
Type I: Provides a safety net with a minimum guaranteed payout, alongside lifelong investment opportunities.
-
Type II: Focuses on enhancing investment efficiency while still offering lifelong investment options.
- - Rider for Major Illness: This valuable feature allows policyholders to skip premium payments upon confirmation of a qualifying major illness (with specific criteria related to hospitalization).
- - Common Special Accounts: The special accounts available are consistent across the Life Invest series, ensuring customer familiarity and ease of access.
The Life Invest series has received support from a wide demographic, particularly individuals in their 20s to 40s who are focused on safeguarding their future while also working towards asset acquisition through long-term, installment, and diversified investment strategies. With the introduction of 'Life Invest Next', MetLife aims to further adapt to varying customer needs.
