Shanghai Electric Showcases AI-Driven Energy and Industry Integration at Hannover Messe 2026
Shanghai Electric, a global leader in providing integrated solutions for the energy and industrial sectors, made a notable appearance at Hannover Messe 2026. Under the theme "Integration of Energy and Industry," the company presented a range of exhibits that highlight their commitment to green energy and innovative industrial applications supported by artificial intelligence (AI).
Exploring New Possibilities in Energy Transformation
As European energy transformation accelerates, the demand for AI integration in manufacturing has surged. Shanghai Electric aims to explore deep collaborations by showcasing four distinct exhibition zones: "AI for Industry," "Zero-Emission Parks," "ENERGY for X," and "Digital Foundations IIoT." Each zone highlights real-world implementations and solutions demonstrating how Shanghai Electric supports a synergistic approach to industrial development across two critical domains: energy and industry.
AI-Driven Solutions for Intelligent Manufacturing
In the "AI for Industry" section, Shanghai Electric unveiled the "StarCloud Intelligent Manufacturing" series, featuring nearly 40 AI models and intelligent agents that support three primary manufacturing scenarios: R&D and design, production and manufacturing, as well as operation and maintenance. One highlighted product, the "Mobile Factory," combines modular container devices, AI, and digital twin technology for remote maintenance and intelligent planning. This innovative solution has already been deployed in international projects, including in South Korea, Indonesia, and Bangladesh. Moreover, Shanghai Electric’s self-developed industrial Internet platform provides digital transformation solutions across 13 industries, integrating with over 460,000 devices worldwide.
Additionally, the company introduced a bipedal humanoid robot named "Suyuan," designed with high-performance joints and intelligent control systems, enabling it to operate in complex industrial scenarios, further aiding the transformation of traditional manufacturing practices.
Advancing Green Energy Solutions
Leveraging the "Energy + Industry" synergy, Shanghai Electric is pioneering replicable solutions for zero-emission parks. The company offers comprehensive services tailored to client needs covering the entire lifecycle from planning to operation, complemented by their own products that satisfy over half of the core equipment requirements. This includes wind energy, solar energy, energy storage, hydrogen energy, microgrids, and multi-source energy coupling systems.
In the "Zero-Emission Parks" area, Shanghai Electric showcased advanced technologies in wind and solar energy along with innovative energy storage solutions. For example, the 25 MW offshore turbine introduced by the company demonstrates their commitment to providing operational and maintenance services globally, including projects like the Senj wind farm in Croatia, one of Central and Eastern Europe’s most significant investments. Furthermore, their cutting-edge photovoltaic technology with HJT enables the presentation of innovative products, such as integrated photovoltaic power and energy storage units.
Energy storage gained traction with the introduction of vanadium flow batteries utilizing an aqueous electrolyte, recognized as a preferred solution for large-scale, long-term energy storage.
Pioneering Directions in Green Hydrogen and Eco-friendly Fuels
Shanghai Electric has applied its expertise throughout the value chain surrounding new energy sources, smart grids, and environmental chemicals, developing essential technologies and equipment for sustainable fuels. The company offers fully tailored, comprehensive solutions for three main eco-friendly fuels, including green methanol, green ammonia, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), adapted to various resource conditions and market needs.
The Taonan investment project in Jilin Province stands as China’s first green methanol demonstration project, achieving complete EU ISCC certification throughout the production process. In March 2026, the first batch of green methanol products was successfully loaded onto the CMA CGM OSMIUM vessel at Shanghai Yangshan Port.
In summary, Shanghai Electric’s showcasing at Hannover Messe 2026 underscores their aspiration to lead the integration of AI technology in energy and industrial sectors. Their innovative approach not only addresses current industry challenges but also paves the way for a sustainable energy future, exemplifying the company's commitment to transformative solutions.
