Join the 16th Annual Walk for Kids
On April 12, 2025, the Ronald McDonald House® Orange County (RMHOC) will proudly host its 16th Annual Walk for Kids™ at the Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine, California. This annual event serves as a vital fundraiser aimed at supporting families with children undergoing medical treatment in local hospitals.
The Walk for Kids community event is not just a walk; it represents the collective strength and compassion of a community that understands the challenges faced by families during critical times. Executive Director Noel Burcelis emphasizes the importance of this gathering: "The power is when everyone comes together to recognize the real struggles of families with children in the hospital. It's a concrete, visible way for members in the community to say, 'We see you, and we support you.'"
This year, the goal is to raise $375,000, enabling RMHOC to continue offering crucial services, support, and programs. Participants can register as walkers, allowing them to engage in peer-to-peer fundraising efforts aimed at significantly impacting the lives of these families.
Brenda Salazar, a passionate former resident at RMHOC, shares her heartfelt motivation: "I made a promise that if I was able to walk out of [RMHOC] with my son alive in my arms, I would support Walk for Kids every year." Her commitment to this important cause spotlights the essential role the Ronald McDonald House plays in the lives of affected families.
Attendees can look forward to a lively opening ceremony featuring performances by the Amateur Athletic Union and the renowned Kodi Lee, winner of America's Got Talent Season 2014. After the uplifting rally, participants will embark on a 1.5-mile walk around the stadium, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. Additionally, the Walker Village will feature a free vendor-activity area, designed to provide fun and entertainment for the entire family.
