In a delightful announcement for pancake enthusiasts, Fookuru Corporation, located in Minato-ku, Tokyo, has revealed that The Original Pancake House will be opening its first location in the Tokai Region. This new establishment will launch at Lachic Nagoya on June 14, 2025. Since its inception in 1953 in Portland, Oregon, The Original Pancake House has expanded to over 150 locations across the United States. The first store in Japan opened in 2013 in Kichijoji, and since then, it has grown to 10 locations across the country, with this being the 11th opening, marking a significant milestone in the Tokai area.

Unique Original Menu Items for Nagoya

To commemorate this grand opening, The Original Pancake House will feature a special Nagoya-exclusive menu. One standout item is the Shachi Monaka Pancake, created in collaboration with the beloved Ganso Shachi Monaka, a company established in 1907 in Osu, Nagoya. This unique pancake comprises a perfect combination of sweet red bean paste and butter sandwiched between layers of pancakes, topped with azuki ice cream and yokan. Finally, the iconic Shachi Monaka is placed on top, delivering an eye-catching presentation and a perfect homage to Nagoya’s rich culinary heritage.

The Legendary Dutch Baby Pancake

A highlight of the menu is undoubtedly the Dutch Baby, which has remained unchanged since the restaurant’s beginnings.
