Discovering the Fifth Voigtlander Exhibition
The
Voigtlander Exhibition Vol.5 showcases a unique blend of artistic talent, featuring works captured exclusively with Cosina's Voigtlander lenses. Organized by photographer
Hideaki Omura, this year's event brings together invited artists alongside public entries, representing the fifth in a series that highlights the distinct characteristics of Voigtlander lenses.
The exhibition will take place from
October 2 through October 22, 2023, at
Shinjuku Kitamura Camera Store’s Basement Gallery, with opening hours from
10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. On the final day of the later session, the exhibition will close at
5:00 PM. Art enthusiasts are encouraged to visit and experience the stunning prints that offer a striking presence compared to viewing images on computer screens or smartphones.
Featured Artists
Among the showcased talents are:
- - Herbie Yamaguchi: Focusing on the theme of “hope for life,” Yamaguchi captures moments of resilience between artists and everyday people. With his experience not only in photography but also in writing and radio, he continues to inspire through various forms of artistic expression.
- - Tomosaki: This artist hinges his work on the nuances of youth and storytelling. After publishing a book titled “The Blue We Saw Back Then” in 2022, he has transitioned into freelance photography, engaging in projects that promote regional revitalization and corporate collaborations.
- - Kagaya: Comprising the comedic duo Kaguya, consisting of Shota Kaga and Souya Katsuya, they have made their mark on the entertainment scene with their relatable sketch comedies that capture the essence of everyday life. Their creative vigor has led them to the finals of the King of Conte competition twice, in 2019 and 2022.
Main Organizer
Hideaki Omura takes the helm of this event, bringing his extensive background in marine sports photography into the mix. His diverse experiences have contributed to his astute eye for both scenic and urban snapshots, which he actively captures while traveling abroad.
