Tokyo Digital Academy: Young Engineer Course 2025 Enrollment

The Tokyo Digital Academy is pleased to announce the commencement of recruitment for its Young Engineer Course set for the 2025 academic year. This initiative, which began in 2022, has been part of a broader effort by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to nurture digital talent, particularly amongst municipal employees. However, in the past year, the focus has shifted to young professionals in the private sector, aiming not only to enhance their career progression and income but also to cultivate immediate digital transformation (DX) capabilities within the city.

Target Audience

This year's course is open to candidates who meet the following criteria:

This year introduces a new focus area in “AI and Machine Learning,” alongside three high-demand sectors: “App Development,” “Cloud Infrastructure,” and “Project Management.” The curriculum has been designed in collaboration with GovTech Tokyo, taking into consideration the applicants' experience, skills, and career aspirations. Participants can expect a well-rounded program that balances business acumen with practical technical exercises, designed for effective, short-term mastery.

2. Subsidy for Course Fees

Participants may receive financial assistance for selecting paid programs or obtaining relevant certifications, with support up to 300,000 JPY available after course completion.

3. Concierge Support

Career support will be provided by experienced concierges, who will guide participants through the selection of reskilling programs to employment opportunities, ensuring a comprehensive support system.

4. Skill Development Opportunities

Participants will have opportunities to learn practical know-how from previous course graduates and professionals, including engineers and Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) from IT firms. Networking events, both online and in-person, will also be organized to facilitate information exchange among participants.

5. Employment Support

Support includes career coaching, interview preparation, and hosting job-matching events aimed at helping participants secure employment or pivot careers. Additionally, companies employing program graduates could receive subsidies for fee-related expenses required for external training or certification acquisition, capped at 200,000 JPY.

Application Period and Process

Applications can be submitted from June 2, 2025, until August 31, 2025. Notifications regarding selection outcomes will be sent to the email addresses provided during registration.
