Trina Hydrogen Unveils New Green Hydrogen Solutions at Shanghai Conference

On June 11, 2025, at the 18th International Solar Photovoltaic and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition in Shanghai, Trina Green Hydrogen introduced its latest innovations in hydrogen production, further establishing its position as a leader in the global hydrogen energy sector. The company revealed three advanced types of green hydrogen equipment, designed not only to improve efficiency but also to significantly lower operational costs in hydrogen production.

One of the standout products presented was the megawatt-scale Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer. This next-generation system utilizes advanced PEM membrane electrode materials, guaranteeing safe operation even at high pressure. Remarkably, the hydrogen concentration in the oxygen output remains below 600 ppm across its entire power range, ensuring purity in hydrogen production. With a rated current density of 30,000 A/㎡, the electrolyzer maintains a low DC power consumption level of less than 4.3 kWh/Nm³. Additionally, the implementation of a new catalyst technology remarkably reduces the dependency on precious metal iridium by 80%. This innovation not only enhances the lifespan of the catalyst, reaching theoretical durability of over 15 years, but also ensures a minimal voltage decay rate of just 1.3 μV/h. All these features contribute to an impressive cost reduction of about 20% for the equipment.

In alignment with their commitment to producing high-quality hydrogen solutions, Trina Green Hydrogen also showcased its 2000 Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzer, building on the established TQ (Tianqing) series. This system emphasizes stability and efficiency through the use ofinnovative electrode materials and a refined electrolyzer structure. Operating at a current density of 4000 A/㎡, it meets the elite Tier 1 energy efficiency standards, with a DC power consumption also pegged at under 4.3 kWh/Nm³.

For broader applications, Trina Green Hydrogen introduced its containerized hydrogen production system, capable of generating up to 1000 Nm³/h of hydrogen per unit. Each unit is designed to fit within a standardized shipping container, integrating essential components such as the electrolyzer, balance of plant systems, control cabinet, and water systems. This modular approach facilitates quick assembly, as the container units are connected through flexible hoses instead of traditional piping, thus eliminating lengthy installation processes. Moreover, the design enhancements—such as a suspended roof and innovative access gates—improve operational space, foster natural ventilation, and reinforce system safety.

As the costs of renewable energies decline and the efficiency of electrolyzers continues to rise, the role of green hydrogen is becoming increasingly vital. Trina Green Hydrogen’s ongoing commitment to research and development aims to further boost product performance and reliability, signaling a promising future for the hydrogen economy. Its initiatives not only contribute to the energy transition but also pave the way for sustainable solutions on a global scale. By enhancing product innovation and performance, Trina Green Hydrogen is effectively driving momentum for a greener, hydrogen-powered future in energy consumption and production.

Through these innovations, Trina Green Hydrogen continues to be at the forefront of the hydrogen revolution, offering practical solutions that align with global energy goals while significantly reducing carbon footprints.
