The 2025 SERIES ON BOARD event is set to take place from May 26 to 30, 2025, with venues in both Tokyo and Osaka. This unique business matching opportunity focuses on the broadcasting and visual media sectors, facilitating connections between Japanese and South Korean companies. The event will showcase ten prominent South Korean production companies, presenting the latest content, including pre-release shows that have not yet hit the airwaves.
In Tokyo, the business matching sessions will occur on May 26 and 27, and in Osaka, the matching event will take place on May 29. Korean production companies, known for their dramas, variety shows, and documentaries, are looking to initiate business collaborations with Japanese companies. Participants can expect to engage in direct meetings with these producers, enhancing chances for better partnerships.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), ensuring a great array of valuable content and networking opportunities. The Japan side is being organized by the Digital Content Association of Japan (DCAJ). This initiative aims to expand the global reach of South Korean content while offering Japanese businesses a chance to explore collaborations in various capacities.
Previously, the event held in September 2024 in Tokyo successfully resulted in over 100 business matches, received positively by attendees who noted the significant informational value and the potential for fruitful negotiations. This year's event promises similar success, creating a bridge between South Korean media companies and Japanese enterprises to foster growth and international relations in the entertainment sector.
Types of connections expected at the event include negotiations with content investment companies, broadcasting platforms, and co-production firms, as well as global distribution entities and documentary distributors. Companies are encouraged to discuss collaboration possibilities in fields such as CG, VFX, and AI technologies, which could allow for a more integrated approach to content creation.
