Aeson Power Unveils Advanced Sodium-Ion Battery Solutions at Data Centre World Asia 2025

On October 8, 2025, Aeson Power, a prominent Australian provider of integrated energy solutions, showcased a series of innovative technologies at the Data Centre World Asia 2025 held at the Singapore Expo and Convention Centre. The focus was on their latest sodium-ion battery systems and bipolar solutions aimed at enhancing energy efficiency, security, and reliability in data center and telecommunications applications.

Aeson Power's presentation was notably centered on three key solutions designed to meet the growing demands of large-scale Internet Data Centers (IDCs) and outdoor telecommunications base stations operating in harsh environments, as well as in regions with unstable power grids.

High-Capacity IDC Backup

The first of these innovations is a high-capacity sodium-ion battery backup solution. This system boasts a 6C discharge capability and utilizes modular 48V, 80Ah packs that can effectively replace traditional lead-acid systems (12V, 200Ah). Remarkably, this solution reduces battery capacity requirements by 70% and results in more than a 50% decrease in both volume and weight. Additionally, its design allows for over a 50% reduction in cooling energy consumption, thereby improving overall efficiency.

Resilience in Outdoor Telecommunications

Next, Aeson Power introduced a standard 48V, 50Ah sodium-ion module designed specifically for outdoor telecommunications under extreme weather and unstable network conditions. With operational capabilities ranging from -40°C to high temperature limits, this module demonstrates longevity benefits, enhanced safety features, and predictable long-term costs compared to lithium-ion alternatives.

General Replacement for SAI

The third solution presented is a 12V, 100Ah sodium-ion battery designed for regions in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Africa where electric grid instability is prevalent. This battery is noted for being 50% lighter than comparable lead-acid batteries, providing a 25% longer average duration, and having a deep cycle life that is five times greater. Furthermore, it is fully compatible with floating charge methods, minimizing maintenance needs.

Bipolar Battery Technology

In addition to its sodium-ion offerings, Aeson Power highlighted its bipolar battery technology tailored for large-scale IDC backup solutions. The new TUS series employs advanced bipolar plates and 3D stacking connection technology, successfully decreasing internal resistance by 70% while increasing voltage discharge by approximately 0.9V per 12V unit. This innovation delivers a 35% higher energy density in just five minutes of discharge and reduces overall size and weight by more than 15%, presenting a compelling alternative to traditional high-rate lead-acid batteries while also lowering system costs.

Having established a solid footing in lead-acid manufacturing over the past three decades, Aeson Power continues to offer reliable and cost-effective solutions. Through its advanced CCCP and COS processes, the HR series is ideal for short-duration IDC backup, while the FAB series caters to long-term reserve needs.

As a trusted global provider of energy storage solutions and batteries, Aeson Power remains committed to delivering safe, clean, and affordable energy. Their ongoing innovation with sodium-ion batteries and advanced backup systems highlights their role in setting new performance and reliability standards across various industries and regions worldwide.

In conclusion, Aeson Power posits itself at the forefront of sodium-ion battery solutions for uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and telecommunications applications, marking a significant advancement in the energy technology landscape.
