Triumph Higher Education Group Expands Global Culinary Network with Culinary Institute of Barcelona Acquisition

Triumph Higher Education Group Expands Culinary Education Network

In a significant move, Triumph Higher Education Group (Triumph) recently announced its acquisition of the Culinary Institute of Barcelona (CIB), a renowned culinary school based in Spain. This strategic addition to their portfolio not only enhances Triumph’s global reach in the culinary education sector but also offers expanded opportunities for students worldwide.

The acquisition, finalized on July 17, 2026, allows CIB to join Triumph’s esteemed network, which includes prestigious institutions such as the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, hailed as the largest culinary school brand in the United States, and the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in Vancouver. These institutions collectively provide career-focused education to over 8,000 students each year and boast an impressive alumni network exceeding 25,000 graduates.

With this acquisition, CIB will continue its operations from its Barcelona campus without disrupting current students or programs. The institute will maintain its unique teaching methodology, faculty, and industry connections, integrating within Triumph's culinary division, ensuring continuity and quality education for aspiring chefs and culinary leaders.

A Forward-Thinking Strategy

Triumph aims to strengthen its vocational training programs, particularly in high-demand sectors like culinary arts and hospitality. By leveraging the innovative educational approach of CIB, Triumph is set to expand the international prospects available to its students across its entire network.

As stated by Jack Larson, the President and CEO of Triumph, “CIB's approach to culinary education, emphasizing creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship, aligns perfectly with the Triumph philosophy.” This acquisition is expected to bolster the curriculum offered by all affiliated culinary schools, encouraging a modern, industry-oriented training model that meets the evolving demands of the culinary landscape.

Creating Global Opportunities

Both institutions are committed to establishing new pathways for student learning and professional development, including study-abroad opportunities in Spain, expanded online learning options, and enhanced access to a global network of culinary instructors and industry experts. This initiative is part of a broader commitment to prepare the next generation of culinary leaders equipped with the skills and knowledge to thrive in a competitive global market.

Founded in 2017, CIB has trained over 1,300 students from more than 100 different nationalities, specializing in areas such as haute cuisine, pastry, advanced culinary techniques, healthy cooking, and restaurant management. Its focus on creativity and problem-solving has empowered many alumni to become successful entrepreneurs in the food sector.

Jospeh Gala Micó, co-founder and president of CIB, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership, emphasizing, “Our alignment with Triumph enhances our mission to revolutionize culinary education on an international stage.” With the backing of Triumph’s resources and networks, CIB alumni and students will gain access to enhanced career opportunities across North America and beyond.

Recognized as a culinary destination, Barcelona is experiencing a burgeoning demand for skilled professionals in gastronomy and culinary tourism. This acquisition not only positions Triumph and CIB at the forefront of meeting this demand but also underscores their resolve to create a positive impact on the culinary arts worldwide.
