Huawei and IEEE Release Groundbreaking Wi-Fi 7 Advanced Technology White Paper for Europe

Huawei and IEEE Collaborate on Wi-Fi 7 Advanced Technology White Paper

At the Huawei Network Summit 2025, held in Munich, Huawei, in conjunction with the IEEE and prominent industry leaders, introduced the Wi-Fi 7 Advanced Technology White Paper. This technical document outlines revolutionary advancements in Wi-Fi 7, including continuous multi-AP communication, integrated Wi-Fi communication and sensing, and comprehensive security measures. These innovations are set to redefine the wireless networking landscape, enabling the creation of a high-speed, intelligent, and secure wireless ecosystem.

The IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) Technical Editor, Dr. Edward Au, highlighted the integration of communication, sensing, and IoT capabilities in campus networks made possible by Wi-Fi 7 Advanced. Such integration enhances the campus experience, bolsters security, and increases digital productivity, transforming campuses into smarter, safer, and more efficient spaces.

Key Features of Wi-Fi 7 Advanced

Wi-Fi 7 Advanced offers three distinctive features:
1. Super-fast Continuous Connectivity: This feature significantly enhances user experience by incorporating Intelligent Coordinated Scheduling and Spatial Reuse (iCSSR) technology, which supports large-scale 80 MHz network communication and doubles single-user data rates. The use of VIP FastPass technology ensures deterministic latency for VIP users, enabling the establishment of a 10 Gbps office network suitable for future corporate environments enriched with AR workflows.

2. Smart Spaces: The integration of Wi-Fi, sensing, and IoT technologies creates smart spaces. Wi-Fi sensing detects human presence and integrates with building management systems to save energy. mmWave technology continuously monitors vital signs, while SD-IoT reduces setup time and costs.

3. Comprehensive Security: This feature provides protection across physical spaces and privacy. Wi-Fi Shield employs AI-powered signal scrambling technology to prevent critical data leaks. Additionally, the Wi-Fi Channel State Information (CSI) sensing capabilities accurately detect intrusions and support real-time spatial security, resulting in a fully comprehensive zero-trust security system. One access point can detect hidden cameras through full-band scanning and AI-driven feature matching, safeguarding both privacy and commercial secrets.

Shawn Zhao, Head of the Campus Network Area of Huawei's Data Communication Product Group, commented, "The Huawei Xinghe AI Campus, powered by Wi-Fi 7 Advanced, elevates communication efficiency to new heights with its 10 Gbps connection speed. Additionally, the integration of communication and sensing capabilities supports smart upgrades across various sectors, ensuring comprehensive security from the digital realm to the physical world, thus creating efficient, smart, and secure campus networks for businesses."

Looking forward, Huawei aims to continue its collaboration with partners and customers across Europe to accelerate technological renewal in campus networking. More detailed information about the technical document can be found at Huawei's official site.
